Hmmm. I will take a closer look at the radiator though. I have noticed since I put the heater in the cabin on cold, the leak seems to have stopped (or slowed down considerably, although it's not a massive leak anyway - about 1cm every 6-8 weeks or so) I did sort out several leaks to do with...

    Disco 2 Td5 fuel problem

Yeah, sounds very much like you have a different fuel pump. Have you removed the pump? They're a right pain to put back in because they spring back up and the retaining ring doesn't catch the thread too well! lol

Yeah I've done the dye trick already, found no leaks in the engine bay, no pressurisation of my header tank, oil is fine, colour hasn't changed in the header tank and no white smoke out the exhaust. However, I can smell anti-freeze in the cabin. I think the leak is so small, that by the time...

    Disco 1 Smelling hot rubber

If it was the clutch, the revs would rise a bit quicker than the speed usually. Sounds like engine load increase causing excess heat. Is the exhaust smoking alot when under heavy load?

Oh, sorry, I thought you were showing us the cabin heater matrix behind the dash.

    Disco 2 Td5 fuel problem

Sounds like the defender pump is quite possible, before the gauge worked, how much fuel was you putting in to fill it up?

Ever found a leak in a bike tyre?? Use a spray bottle and some washing up liquid with water added to it. The leaks will bubble like mad.

Hi mate, I seem to be having this issue and I'm sure it's down to the same issue as I can smell it when I get in the vehicle. What did you take off to gain access to view the heater core? I already did the dye test, but couldn't get into this area very easily to inspect it.

    Tarrafirma tf 201 kit

The offset bushes offset the caster angle on the axle end. Extending the length of the radius arm at the chassis end will not bring the angle back in unfortunately.

    Insurance for 18yo girl

Adrian Flux are really good. And they don't penalise you lime other insurers do for a big chunk of modifications either. In fact, I think some of the mods I declared made it cheaper than I was expecting, I assume this is because they value their insurance based on the fact that people who have...

    Discovery 2 Half Shafts

Yeah was going to phone and ask them, but they're offices were closed, so I figured I'd see if any D2 owners could share their experiences. I will feed back when I find out though.

    Discovery 2 Half Shafts

Hi Guys, Was wondering if anyone with experience of off-roading a Discovery 2 could tell me how strong the half shafts are? Debating on doing some long distance off roading and don't want to be let down by these, but some people say they're really bloody strong compared to the Discovery 1 and...

    Help... Propshaft failure

I see gearbox and transfer box going regularly on facebook for 400 ish as a pair. I think the transfer boxes are normally a bit more expensive than the gearbox though. Gearboxes on Discovery 2's are usually crap and not worth much unless they've been reconditioned.

    At my wits end...help.

I wouldn't worry too much about everything being perfect in that position on the flange as it's at the top, which is the lowest load area of that flange. Drill it and stick a nut on the other end. Could always weld the nut on the other side once you have it reassembled just so the nut is a bit...

    Disco 1 front windows opening

If you can get it out again, I can't remember if the covers on the relays are easily removeable. You can sometimes open them up and release them. You'll provably find if its gotten wet that the relays are corroded together instead of welded together. But yes, changing the module is the...

Question on head gasket failure diagnosis

Missed the bubbles when I read the post, yes if there are alot of bubbles coming through as you say, then you may find a sniff test will work quite well to prove this point. Diesels are difficult to do a sniff test on, but sounds like it would be more reliable at the moment.

Question on head gasket failure diagnosis

Thermostat could be the cause. Pump sounds ok if your getting return flow. The pipes do go firm, but you should still be able to squeeze them and yes, it should depressurize when cooled down, but you will get a small hiss when you remove the cap, not a large hiss. Coolant level when cooled...

Disco 2 2004 TD5 went to garage for some minor electrics - got call saying BCU has shut down

Sounds like they may have muddle about with the head lining possibly and disturbed the key fob sensor in the head lining? Have they tried sticking the key in the door and locking and unlocking, leaving it about 5 minutes and then trying it? This is supposed to be part of the wake up procedure...

    Disco 2 TD5 top hose - grrrrr

I too thought my head gasket was a bit suspect but have come to realise that the TD5s suffer with alot of problems related to those crappy spring clips. I've seen sooooo many of these crappy joints leak on TD5 engines as a result of crappy spring clips. Seems that as the corrosion sets in they...
