    P38A A series of faults

This is why I went in with the contact cleaner on the OBD socket, I couldn't see any evidence of corrosion however using the contact cleaner combined with plugging in and out the plug should have helped clean the contacts. I need to repeat elsewhere...Will look up the thread highlighting where...

    P38A A series of faults

Not sure, however after I did all the work on the suspension I used EAS Unlock successfully to clear the error codes. Then the suspension started going to full height and refusing to budge and I started to experience progressive communication issues with EAS Unlock first with my Laptop and the...

    P38A A series of faults

Well I am utterly befuddled; got my EAS cable and FTDI USB to Serial adapter out of the packet they were sent back to me in, having been back to the chap who made the EAS cable to confirm that they were ok, which they were, then went through the sequence of getting the laptop running, cable...

    P38A A series of faults

I was in and out of the car so often I can't remember if I had given it long enough with a door open to be fair Ah, now of course I did have the bonnet open for all of this so it could well be what was going on, and you can bet the damp floor of the drivers side from the leaking O rings had...

I thought that too, but I noticed it raising the nsf about an inch and then lowering it again while I was looking underneath to check the radiator drain wasn't leaking. Also the off side is looking a little lower than the near side having been stood for a bit

P38A 2.5 DSE Synergy 4BV3 aka 'Ronbox' - Installation Help

Sorted, and seems to at least have power seeing as the dash mounted 'sport' button, there to give an off boost performance increase, illuminates when pressed

Heater pipe O rings successfully replaced second time around, Ronbox also installed and appears to be working (the dash mounted 'sport' button lights up so I must have spliced it in somewhere right). But We have suspension errors again post battery disconnection :( Not sure why yet, will...

P38A 2.5 DSE Synergy 4BV3 aka 'Ronbox' - Installation Help

All the componentry is premium stuff (I suspect from RS) as there are pukka TYCO AMP connectors for the MAP interrupt and its own flying leads, 3m adhesive lined heatshrink etc etc. They (Synergy/Ron) suggest various alternate ways to tap into the injector pump feed, but state a preference to...

P38A 2.5 DSE Synergy 4BV3 aka 'Ronbox' - Installation Help

It's plug and play at the MAP sensor which is the easy one anyway. I could have wired it at the pump by splicing in the two wire there, but they recommend doing it at the ecu by 'simply' accessing the wiring at the back on the connector, a connector that looks to be sealed :(

P38A 2.5 DSE Synergy 4BV3 aka 'Ronbox' - Installation Help

Not content with failing to make it to the MoT today after having to do battle with the heater pipe O rings...twice (don't bother trying anything other than the correct size O ring) I decided that while I had the under dash in pieces that I might as well install my 'Ronbox' What initially...

    P38A A series of faults

No MoT, had to cancel as I couldn't get the heater pipe O rings I was trying to use (wrong size, stretched over the pipe) to seal. Managed to get some 22 ID x 2.5mm O rings from the local independent motor factor, but not in time to get it all installed and over to the MoT station. I'm still...

A drop plate hitch would be so much more use, but there doesn't seem to be one available for the P38, at least not a branded producted that uses a Dixon Bate style drop plate like you can get for the Disco, Classic, Defender and Series... Am down in Kent and have been sorting a few things...

Yup, 5 main bearing crank 1725 with twin 150 CD Stombergs to deliver all of about 92hp...with my previous one the engine was sent off to Holbay for a rebuild using a Hunter H120 cylinder head (smaller valve remarkably) and high compression pistons installed along with a slightly tweaked cam...

Useful to know, thanks! My ride height is going to be determined mosty by how the trailer sits behind it, which definitely means that it will be locked. Mot booked for Saturday with wheel alignment, everything now crossed to see what I find tomorrow when I arrive down in Kent

Cheers, the pics actually flatter the Alpine, the respray it received in around 2007/8 has micro-blistered just about everywhere, probably from there being a bit of moisture trapped in the primer. However I wanted it as a driver more than a looker. It does need some work, especially to some...

It's a strange beast; 2.4 litre 4 pot turbo diesel 150ps, at 3k rpm 295 lbft between 1.6 and 2.6k rpm, but it feels really over geared; at 50 in 6th it really does labour and to run around at 30 anything taller than 3rd is too much, but 3rd feels too short. I guess that's the price you pay to...

Indeed Until now though I have found zero corrosion or oxidation on any of the connectors that I have pulled apart or studied really closely. But I haven't looked at the back of the OBD2 port as yet
