    36mpg!

So I’ve been driving more sensibly since the fuel price rocketed. Last tank average was 36 mpg. not bad for a 110 TD5. The disco transfer box has made all the difference.

Td5 Air issue in the fuel system

I had those exact symptoms for ages! I replaced fuel lines, pump, injector seals…. It turned out to be a blocked fuel filter! Cheap and easy place to start.

    Wooden brakes

I’m comparing with my previous defenders. I replaced discs callipers and pads… kicking myself for not diagnosing then servo failure, but I was led astray by the seized pistons that I freed off a couple of years ago. I’d I start the engine with my foot on the brake there is no difference in feel...

    Wooden brakes

Wooden as in no feel, lots of foot needed and wooden stop in an emergency Just pulled the vac pipe off, no issues there so must be a servo issue. My old callipers has seized pistons so I had hoped it was that….

    Wooden brakes

In my quest for meaningful brakes I’ve now replaced all discs and callipers on my 2004 110. Still wooden…. What’s next. Servo? Vac pump?

    Rear axle sound rough 2004

I've changed the oil twice and replaced the transfer box for another reason, but still the whine remains.

TD5 air in fuel lines, my experience.

Hopefully some closure here and assistance for anyone searching air in fuel system. The old Male KC80 filter wouldn't drain or vent, guess it was blocked, new filter does both profusely. Possibly the noise from the pump was the second stage (HP) cavitating as it was starved of LP feed and...

nothing coming out of fuel filter drain???

That was indeed the issue! the old Male KC80 filter wouldn't drain or vent, guess it was blocked, new filter does both profusely. Possibly the noise from the pump was the second stage (HP) cavitating as it was starved of LP feed and gassing up. Anyway it seems to be running fine now. I fitted a...

nothing coming out of fuel filter drain???

I just noticed the rubber duck bill non return was on the HP return not the LP feed. now getting a dribble through and some venting at the air bleed. purged the system for 30mins till the pump was quiet. did a quick 5 mile run, felt a bit lumpy and when I returned the pump is screaming again. I...

nothing coming out of fuel filter drain???

Help please. As part of my long running air in fuel issue, I notice with the pump running, nothing comes out of the water drain when I open it. and if I then remove the air bleed back hose and the brass fitting with the check valve in, still nothing..... Is that right?

TD5 air in fuel lines, my experience.

Damn it. It died again today. Fuel pump is screaming. Definitely runs longer with the tank full. could it be the pressure regulator? Or the filter?

TD5 air in fuel lines, my experience.

I though I\'d finally got to the bottom of a long running problem on my 2004 defender, these were the symptoms. It ran absolutely fine for the first 3/4 of a tank but then failed as if it had run dry, pump gurgling. this started 12 months ago. I replaced the air vent valve in the filter block...

    VDO or Genuine fuel sender/pump?

Thanks all. Ive ordered a VDO and the 3 filter pipes as all the ends snapped off in the old pump. I'll fit a new end to the sender to engine pipe.

    VDO or Genuine fuel sender/pump?

After a year of not parking 110 td5 double cab on slopes because I get air in the fuel system. It finally died on the flat and wouldn't bleed. looking to replace the sender unit. I'm not getting the £50 cheapie but is there a difference between the £180 OEM unit from VDO/Seimens and the genuine...
