    No fuel at injectors :(

I'm no expert in these but have the same problem (though intermittent) with an auto, no diesel to injectors. You mentioned that you had changed your green box, I was under the impression you also needed the donor fob? I also read that you could bridge pins 10 and 11 to bypass the immobiliser...

    2016 Discovery Sport tailgate puzzle...

I was thinking of a Discovery Sport and have been reading up on them. The rear door alignment seems to be an issue and comments seem to suggest that the hinges aren't strong enough and secured by only one bolt each side. I've no personal knowledge though.

Disco 1 No diesel at injectors

Back to the start again, used the Disco again but it only worked properly for a few hours and then failed as before I read somewhere that it was possible to bridge pins 11& 12 on the immobilizer, the green ecu behind the glove compartment. I've taken it home to inspect, anyone know, how are the...

Disco 1 No diesel at injectors

Well, I left my good Disco alone apart from checking connections and resistances on the crank sensor and 4th injector. Went out to the farm with all this info to compare. Churned the engine over to check for the red warning dash light, it was off, but I noticed a spurt of diesel out of one of...

Disco 1 No diesel at injectors

Thanks, I'd like to check it out even for my own interests but haven't had a chance to look at it yet. From what I read, if it needs changing its a difficult job. Another thought, I spent all yesterday evening online and found a couple of posts with exactly the same fault where a change of ecu...

Disco 1 No diesel at injectors

Back again, I disconnected the wire from no 4 injector on my "good" disco to check resistance etc on a working engine. I was surprised to find that it started and ran well with this injector wire disconnected. I thought it couldn't run without this?

Disco 1 No diesel at injectors

Thanks Rich, from old posts I was expecting a few wires, certainly wasn't expecting diesei, yes a bit worried about a leak. I'm starting to realise that a lot of what I've been reading online is rubbish.

Disco 1 No diesel at injectors

I spoke to a specialist this morning, he told me to check the red light on the dash if it's on when cranking the engine, shouldn't be. He also mentioned No 4 injector and to check the wiring to it. I also have a very nice TDI auto in my garage same set up and was trying to remove the black...

Disco 1 No diesel at injectors

I'm going to have a closer look in a few days, it's stored 15 miles away so I'll take plenty of tools and a multimeter. Thanks.

Disco 1 No diesel at injectors

Thanks, no spider as it's a later auto with EDC. Good cranking speed, no issues there. When ign is on there's a buzzing noise ok, I didn't realize it was the pump. The body's severely corroded and I originally bought it for off road farm use so I'll spend time but not worth spending a lot of...

Disco 1 No diesel at injectors

Bump..... I spent this morning searching online, lots of conflicting advice. Is an immobilizer fault likely as the engine spins over yet no diesel? Where are the ecus located?

Yes, wire from No 4, can I test anything there?

Disco 1 No diesel at injectors

I've a rusty 1997 Tdi automatic for farm use. It lives in a shed and comes out a couple of times annually. Earlier in the week I put a good battery in it and we used it all day, stop start, repairing fences. Next day it started well as usual but later on starter turned it fine but it wouldn't...

    Disco 1 V8, 64k value

I'm surprised at the low value people are placing in this Disco. I've got a nice Tdi but keep an eye out for a better one. No dealer would sell a nice original unwelded car for under £4k and I've looked at quite a number of them, private and trade. Japanese ones are usually a bit special because...

    Vague Steering, Disco 1

Update on this. I took the Disco to a local mechanic who removed the bottom front shock mounts using his ''hot spanner" I wasn't very keen on this method but it only took a very short time to burn the ends off and left no heat marks that I could see. I've now fitted the new shocks although old...

    Vague Steering, Disco 1

I've just checked the front end suspension, no wear in any of the joints, no stiffness, and I took off one end of the steering damper and checked that it was ok. Haven't yet checked the rear as advised though I've only covered 400 miles since MOT. I've arranged to get the bottoms of the front...

Disco 1 Discovery 300TDi bodywork question.

I would sand that panel to make sure that it isn't just surface rust.ou might be lucky! My Disco has a little bit of similar rust but on the underside it was perfect. I just cleaned it up and repainted.

    Vague Steering, Disco 1

Hi folks, I know this subject has been discussed many times but I can't really find an answer to my problem. I have a nice 97 Tdi, bought 2 years ago but stored in a dry garage until recently when I got a new MOT. Here in NI, for the test, the wheels are driven onto a moving platform and the...

No reverse has struck my Freelander. Labour cost of box swap?

Not sure where you're from but when you mention Higgins and Burnside I guess close enough to me. O'Connells in Garvagh work on cars and commercials, very nice people to speak to though not specialists. I haven't had to use them yet apart from buying tyres but they would be my choice if a job is...

No reverse has struck my Freelander. Labour cost of box swap?

I would think labour over here shouldn't be too expensive for a gearbox replacement, at a guess £200/300 with a small garage. Others on here might be able to advise what to watch out for. I don't know the Freelander, did you check the reverse situation out with a specialist? Yoy could check with...
