Morning all!
Got a 2016 Disco Sport & the tailgate is doing something a bit odd..
opens ok, press the shut button & sometimes it closes ok & sometimes it almost closes, beeps then opens. Had a good look at it in operation & seems to be hitting the nearside body panel & not sitting square. Not given it any abuse but who knows what the previous owner did with it!
Do the Tailgates twist out of shape just for fun? Does it take a lot of abuse to bend them? Would the rams playing up twist it? etc etc etc.. Anyone got any ideas or is it a case of pull the tailgate of & fit a new on?
Many thanks in advance all!

Sounds like a hinge is faulty, or out of adjustment. Has the vehicle been involved in an impact? Maybe its been badly repaired if it was. The tail gate should fit squarely into the aperture, with an even gap all the way round.

I was thinking of a Discovery Sport and have been reading up on them. The rear door alignment seems to be an issue and comments seem to suggest that the hinges aren't strong enough and secured by only one bolt each side. I've no personal knowledge though.
