Another day at the office. Made 2 strenghtening plates out of galvy angle iron. cut & bent them to suit curvature of chassis. The welded them in place. Also drilled thru chassis and Button welded them to give a stronger fixing. then cut a plate to fill the hole & did same as brackets Button...

We sent a frontera onto a wet muddy field to rescue a prick in a rangey with a trailer full of rangey alloys and wheels figured it was a win win situation. If the fronty failed. We could take the **** out of him. If he succeeded then we could laugh at the Rangey owner. We laughed at the rangie...

I've had half a doz defenders Never needed to do anything other than bolt the antenna mount to the body. If you can't get a decent SWR then the problem lies in either Poor mount installation Crap coax or crap connections. You DO NOT need to create a artfical groundplane..

Last time I looked defenders had mirrors on the sides of the vehicle & Lights at the front. Apparently they do this to ensure, the vehicle conforms to C&U regs..

Very serious on that age, unless it's been stored in a garage and meticulously looked after, sills (behind the plastic sill covers) rear floor, rear crossmember wheel arches front inner and rear outer, footwells and inner floor will all have some sort of corrosion issues. the only question...
