the shimmying could be a few different things. There’s some videos on YouTube that goes through them. Usually a worn steering damper or the tyres.

    P38A Speedo inaccuracy - P38 V8 4.0 auto

I'm in no rush. I've just picked up another set to play with lol. As for the faults, it really needs a nanocom plugging in and seeing what error codes are listed. See what each abs sensor is reading. The fact the abs light coming up when you hit the pedal shouldn't happen.

I'm pretty sure the OP has much bigger wheels on from factory going off previous convo. Could be the reason for the error.

P38A Come on! Who bought it??

Both replaced, rebled when new clutch was fitted and no issues. It’s the double diaphragm what is the problem. I’d hate to be sat in traffic and my leg twitch or something. And noo, my left leg has only just got back to normal size after running paddle clutches over the years.

P38A Come on! Who bought it??

Brand new bushes were fitted along with a new seal. Clutch arm was welded as a precaution on the advice of someone running the same clutch. Clutch was bled correctly but the pedal was horrendously heavy, and I’ve spent most of my driving years running performance clutches.

P38A Come on! Who bought it??

I'm considering a HP24 with the ashcroft TC. I'm already chipped and its really woken the car up lol. As for the clutch side of things, I fitted a HD clutch kit but the pedal was horrendously heavy. Coupled with the poor release mechanism and nothing available to ease the pedal I ended up...

P38A Come on! Who bought it??

I was of the same impression, but the clutch design lets it down. Rather than sharing a similar setup with other Land Rovers, it’s bespoke to the P38 and the 2.8 petrol defender. So prices are high and parts are hard to come by. I have been considering an auto swap with the modified Ashcroft...

    M57 3.0 Ranger Rover Engine

Wouldn’t fancy all that power in something leaf sprung and on those poor brakes. Easier to do it with a defender.

Buy a pre egr car, fit the Wildbear decat pipe, get yourself down to Endtuning and have them fit one of their chips and you’ll be golden. They’ll be extinct by the time you get round to buying one though

    Any Dakar 4x4 owners here?

It all boils down to cost I’m afraid. I have considered a whitbread cage too.

    Any Dakar 4x4 owners here?

I’m sure I could doctor it to fit the Range Rover. They’re not all that different in dimensions. Would be fun with the working air suspension lol
