    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

I'm not looking forward to the winter either , I'll be at a funny stage with it and don't think much will happen over it to be honest, and start again properly in March (ish) time, but we'll see, maybe we will have a mild winter, in which case it'd be happy days :) Good to hear you...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Not too it, but went and collected a new chassis for it at the weekend :)

    New Project Arrives

Nice work so far, any news from Richards' on the chassis yet? You ordered yours slightly before me and I went to collect mine at the weekend. Sure you will do soon if not :)

@adrian82 Did you manage to get your chassis yesterday? Saw your paper work in the office, and the shiny chassis outside :D and wondered if you managed to get.

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Haha, cheers, just the start, and the weather will be against me shortly :( Indeed :) Just a shame I'm not really ready for it. And I did, I ended up borrowing a trailer from a friend of a friend.

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Well went and picked the chassis up this morning, happy days :) Slight cock up with paper work, (not their) but we got their in the end.

Tell me to **** off and mind my own if you want, but have you had the OK from them about a 10:30 pick up? Generally the owner only goes in on a Saturday and wants people their early so he can go home and spend the rest of his day as he wishes. I have been told to be their between 8-9am, as I...

    Bulkhead brakets

^^ What he said, inner wings, and also a little square ish shaped one for the brake balance valve on the drivers side.

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Same here, has been 6 weeks since I ordered it and they told me 10-12 weeks. But last time they told me 10 weeks it was 12 or 13 so wasn't expecting for a while. So happy days here too, and may see you their Saturday.

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Got the last few bits back from blasting today. Cappings, bonnets frames. . And also bought a bulkhead, Oops.. :oops:o_O Don't really know why, more of an impulse buy, but came up locally and thought bugger it I'll have it. Mind you I had agreed to buy it before I knew about the chassis coming...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

That's a good idea actually, makes a cheap trailer which is always handy to have. Have looked at buying a trailer in the past, but it's having somewhere to keep it, I already have too much crap and no where to put it

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Well I best pull my finger out, just had a phone call that I was not expecting in the slightest! Richards' chassis have just rang me to say it is ready to collect  Not even got a rear axle yet, or an engine, gearbox, transfer box... oh or a way to collect it o_O I may end up having to rent...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Don't think I've said bud, £175, just glad most things have come back without massive holes in them  Yes, certainly the worst I've seen in person, what next? Hopefully I can repair it, and then send it for galv :)

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Anyway, some bits came back from blasting today, looks good on the whole, just some repairs to the battery box to do and that's about it. Although the more I talk to this chap, the more I wonder how good, or bad his equipment is, said it took him 'bloody ages to do' and that I've got a bargain...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

In places it is Mick, but that is why I bought the full width top repair panels, the rest I am confident I can cut out the bad and make good again. Thanks :) A slow start, but it'll get their. You are right and hopefully it comes out good, the last one worked and fitted well enough, the...

    Respray costs and thoughts

But I do agree about doing it yourself James, If you have to time/space to do so. (you have access to a farm/barn if I remember right?) I have done a few in my shed/gazeebo with half reasonable results. And as said, the hard work is in the prep, I would cry if I scratched my £1500-2000 paint...

    Respray costs and thoughts

I'm sure you can get 2k rated masks nowadays, but are only rated to a certain number of hours. Not looked into it that much so don't know how expensive they are, but still, they have to be cheaper than an air fed unit and no second compressor to run, so ideal for us doing the painting ourselves.

    Headliner bodging!!

No reason why it wouldn't work I don't think, and their is plastic trim available which clicks onto the sunroof frame and covers say an inch of the head lining, so you wouldn't actually see the cut you make.

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

So then, I decided I would try and repair the bulkhead, a waste of £100 having it blasted if I just scraped it, and I do actually think it is salvageable, just more time to do so. Anyway, I made an order with YRM on Monday morning at about 8:30 before I went to work, and credit where it is due...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Yep :( I can see why people just buy from the likes of Ashtree already done. Yep, already had been looking, they got my money last time and will do again as the parts where of good quality. Crikey, that is some big receiver, would be ideal actually, and the diesel trailer compressor jobbie...
