    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Yep, I feel the same  But it is what it is, I am just trying to be realistic, it all takes time when you are doing it weekends and evenings and mostly on your own.

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

It currently has a garage, probably the same size as the one I have now, but the whole point of moving is it is a bigger house and a bigger garden, albeit more money and we have to raise the capital, but it should be worth it, it might not be as suitable straight away, but long term it should be...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Yes and no, I suppose they could be mate, but they are rusty as anything and pistons seized in, I just thought easier and quicker to buy new. Ay, you've built more than most of us on here in the past though mate ;) But cheers :) Thing is Mick, where most have other commitments in life to...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Spent another hour or so in the shed tonight, another coat on the axle, and another big pile of parts arrived today. All the stuff for the rear axle, discs, pads, calipers, bearings etc, plus the rest of the stuff to get it to a rolling chassis stage, springs, shocks, turrets, rear shock mounts...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Come to think of it Ray, it may actually be first one I have actually driven myself, but can see why people own them, quieter, comfier, warmer, but then you get back in the Defender and their is no comparison, their is just something about them. But yes, they certainly can show defenders how to...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Well it has been remarkably mild here this evening so spent half an hour in the garage and got the first of the top coat on the axle. Another tomorrow hopefully, need to give the paint as long to dry as I can before I start assembly at the weekend, I may even see if I can get away with putting...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

It is tidier than I thought it was going to be Ray, but will definitely be getting rid once I have the bits I need, although a slight change from driving a defender. Yours if you want it bud, but depends how soon you need it, will be a few weeks before I start stripping it, but will pm you...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Well not a great deal has happened this weekend, Saturday morning we went viewing houses, and Saturday afternoon/evening I went and collected another rear axle o_O Why when I bought a donor last weekend? well with a house move possibly on the cards if I can leave the donor complete I will, if I...

    Bankz's 110 Double Cab

Love 110 double cabs :) Love the bowler wheels too, but so many £ Good work so far, is going to be a great looking vehicle.

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Well, donor is here, and it is actually tidier than I thought it would be :) So the plan is to get the engine/gearbox and axles off next weekend, and thinking I can get the rear axle rebuilt and a rolling chassis built up within a month (hopefully) The rest of the disco can then go for scrap...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Not just the bulkhead mate, inner wings, cappings, radiator frame and general brackets etc, a bit like last time but not half as much :) And that was in my watch list, but yes quite a hike for a donor, doesn't bother me so much, but trying to get a lift their is the hard part. So I was aiming...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Well I have finally found a donor, but it's not an auto :( How wrong was I when I said I'll buy a 300tdi chassis as it'll be easier to find than a 200tdi, well an engine maybe not, but a complete donor has proven difficult to find, and is why I have just bought what I can now, although I am...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Cheers :) Nothing left to do on it now, how it is is how it will stay. Well I am going to send it for galv, but it's having the time to take it, need a morning off to go and do It really. Camera phone and dark garage isn't a good mix  should find my camera out again really.

    Galvanised bits

All very doable yourself, and certainly much cheaper, hardest part will probably be trying to find a half decent bulkhead. Anything you have done will have to be took back to bare metal as the galvanise with not stick to paint, so it will either need to be shot blasted for the awkward or large...

    200tdi Max Fuel Screw

Don't know the answer to your question, but interested myself as mine does the same after the previous owner 'tweeked' the pump. My thoughts are probably not doable in my case myself (everything has been moved/altered) and may end up sending the pump off.

Tdci style steering wheel for td5

You need to count the number of splines on you current steering wheel and buy another to suit. Not all are the same, some are 36 spline some are 48 from memory. If you have a search their is a good guide out thier of which wheel is what. I just don't know how to add a link from phone...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

So Saturday was spent going through everything, making sure no paint, oil, grease etc was left on parts, holes drilled where they are needed, and made a list of what I have to take. Nothing near the 288 items I had done last time, but the pile is growing at 124. The bulkhead, as I said in a...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

Haha the short answer is a lot, no idea how many hours it has taken, and it is still far from perfect, but it is a damn sight better than it was :)

MOT - no probs, or so I thought

Richards' get my vote, have had several without issue, but views differ and some say Marslands are just as good as well. I have just done my 90 and whilst being rebuilt I have done what you have said, td5 rear tank with 200tdi engine. You will need a tdci or td5 plastic tank, td5's have an in...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild round 4

So a little bit of an update, forgot to update last weekend. Spent all last weekend repairing the bulkhead, all but done now, just need to go over it all making sure all is good, fully welded, flap disked back etc.. Also repaired the battery box, again just a little tidying up to do with it...
