All very doable yourself, and certainly much cheaper, hardest part will probably be trying to find a half decent bulkhead. Anything you have done will have to be took back to bare metal as the galvanise with not stick to paint, so it will either need to be shot blasted for the awkward or large...

Don't know the answer to your question, but interested myself as mine does the same after the previous owner 'tweeked' the pump. My thoughts are probably not doable in my case myself (everything has been moved/altered) and may end up sending the pump off.

You need to count the number of splines on you current steering wheel and buy another to suit. Not all are the same, some are 36 spline some are 48 from memory. If you have a search their is a good guide out thier of which wheel is what. I just don't know how to add a link from phone...
