    Did you remove an early or late engine and which engine/gearbox combo are you trying to install as there be setting's problems in the ecu's, probably. Do you still have a autobox ecu fitted and have the correct engine ecu (petrol/diesel/early/late...:confused:) ecu???

    Setting the points by dwell angle will allow for worn shaft bushes/ignition advance plate or fit an Lumintion optical system, the other answer is to buy a new distributor/system.

    Even if you managed to get the crack perfectly clean, you'd never work araldite right into the bottom of the crack. How long has it been since the bellhousing was damaged/impacted???
