Towing a caravan with disco 2

I have fond memories, several years ago, of driving up that hill in an L reg Volvo 850 loaded with passengers, a boot full of luggage, and a trailer full of camping equipment, and suffering a somewhat terminal head gasket failure

Towing a caravan with disco 2

My TD5 Disco was pretty sluggish on the hills. Disconnecting (and subsequently replacing) the MAF did wonders for it. I recently pulled a pretty heavy (2+t) trailer with mine around the Bristol Ring Road - had no issues accelerating away from the roundabouts. And it did the hill out of Bath...

Disco 2 Solution - Bluetooth on OEM Head Unit with CD Multi-changer

I fitted a parrot system in my D2. If i'd bought brand new I could have bought an adapter to fit it. I managed to pick up the parrot system really cheaply on ebay, 2nd hand, and the previous owner had cut the plug off to connect it into his car and modified the loom. Once I had a wiring diagram...

Green laning kit bag: what to put in it?

Most important thing to have is another vehicle - preferably with you or at least within an easy distance to assist. Strops and Shackles are great - although limited use if you are on your own! (that said, they can be used to stop the situation getting worse whilst you await help) Always go...

    Hi my name is larky

Hi! Welcome to the forum! What type of landy are you driving?
  14. private penguin

    Just bought this

If you're out of the UK for long periods of time (as your location suggests) i'd seriously look at secure storage for that rather than just adding security to it. One of those self storage compounds with 24 hour security perhaps.

A few questions I am new to Land Rovers.

Cant help with price... but the defender didnt come out until 1989 Landrovers from 1983 to 1989 were basically defenders but just branded as "110" or "90" Older than that and it would be a series. It would be wise to either have a large pile of money, or the willingness and ability to do at...

Coffee Addict signing in. Bigger hammer required.

Hi @Coffee Addict and welcome to the loonyzone! I'm also Bristol Based so looking forward to seeing photos of the truck to see if I recognise it at all! Theres a few of us who, from time to time, take a little trip down to Salisbury Plain (looking at something in December at the moment) so if...

Safest place to leave a Landy overnight

Generators tend to have the fuel valve too. Would be fairly easy to install and could probably be tucked in to a fairly discreet place. Just be cautious of the risk of forgetting that its disabled and inadvertently running the engine dry of fuel! In terms of the other features - not a bad...

Safest place to leave a Landy overnight

If you have a choice of hotels, choose ones with a 24 hour reception desk. Generally these will have a CCTV monitor in the reception area and, as long as you park at the front of the hotel in view of either the doors, or the camera, theives are unlikely to want to risk it. Even better, choose...
