    Disco 3 (LR3) TDV6, Auto,2008-EPB Actuator removal

Hi there... During a recent trip to France the rear r.h. caliper decided not to release properly and as a result the brake pads on that wheel were worn down to the metal and the disc was badly scored. Ordered a new pair of rear discs and pads all round which I got a local French garage to fit. A...

Disco 2 Sheared exhaust manifold stud..........Bugger!

I'll go with that. Use the clearance hole in the manifold as a guide to dimple the stud. If the stud is an M8 use a 8.5mm drill first to just put a dimple in the end of the stud before using the easy out drill. That way, the hole should be pretty central in the stud and not break through the...

Hi folks....Quick question..... Can the Disco 3 be driven in "Mondo" mode with the rear propshaft removed-the same as I could with my old Freelander whilst the propshaft was being overhauled ?? A Happy Christmas and New Year to all

Disco 3 (LR3) (Almost) Stuck in France !!

Hi Guys...Bought the Disco with the caravan in tow down to the South of France on Monday. Filled up in the UK as normal and on the way down through France had to stop off for a refuel. At the time...Big Problem !! the fuel flap would not open and the fuel computer was showing just over 60 miles...

Disco 3 (LR3) Another Satnav question

UPDATE..... Decided to have another play this afternoon. Selected France on the map and entered the town (Limoges) instead of the postcode as previously, then picked a street and house number at random......The satnav then calculated the route from here in N. Wales and showed the route summary...

Disco 3 (LR3) Another Satnav question

Thanks marjon....Yes, mine is DVD driven. Not 100% sure at the moment as I am in the house, but I think the satnav does not have a selectable start point option-it automatically calculates from the current position. However I will have a further look at it in the morning and update my findings...

Disco 3 (LR3) Another Satnav question

Thanks for your reply Bud.......Yes, I selected France on the map (It turned green) and the UK automatically went Grey. I think you can only select one country at a time and because the satnav still locates me at home in the UK and not France it throws a wobbly. Seems strange that a big black...

    Disco 1 misfire,1995 3.9 V8

Just an aside regarding rough running on the V8's (3.5's & 3.9's). Years ago when I had my 3.9 Vogue SE, I had a problem with misfiring and backfiring-it was just as if it was running on 3 or 4 cylinders. Did exactly what the poster has done, changed plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm & leads all to no...

Disco 3 (LR3) Another Satnav question

Hi again guys.....As some of you may be aware, we are travelling to France early next month I decided over the weekend to input the destination Postcode (87300) into the factory fitted satnav whilst parked at my Home location here in North Wales. I started off by selecting "Destination" and...

Disco 3 (LR3) Quick Satnav question

Going down to the South of France in a few weeks and some of the places give their locations as co-ordinates and not "Postcodes". I still have a Tomtom satnav which I can use but would rather use the inbuilt one. From what I have seen as artillery fire using co-ordinates, they couldn't hit a...

Disco 3 (LR3) Quick Satnav question

Hi Guys..as per the title. I have a 2008 Disco 3, HSE with satnav. Not with the car at the moment and don't have access to the handbook. Can the destination entry be put in using Longtitude and Latitude figures if a "Postcode" is not available ?? Cheers folks

Disco 3 (LR3) Fuel leak after changing Camshaft & FIP belts

Thanks Bud TIP When removing or refitting those fiddly clips, which have a habit of disappearing forever-buy or use a pair of locking forceps, the ones with bent ends (Available from most Angling shops). Lock them on to the clip, gently prise the clip with a flat screwdriver until it is about...

Disco 3 (LR3) Fuel leak after changing Camshaft & FIP belts

UPDATE Decided to spend another day on the Disco despite coming within a hairs breadth of selling it as a non runner. As my other post, I started with trying to find the missing connector...and I did !! Then moved on to the spill pipe blowing off problem. What had I done that was different to...

UPDATE Decided to spend another day on the Disco and backtrack on the disconnections in the battery box area that I did in order to change the FIP belt. I have AA Relay cover with my Bank account so if I get it off the drive I can call them to my "Breakdown" and they will transport it to either my destination or a repairer of my choice anywhere in the UK FOC ;)

Unfortunately John, diesel doesn't seem to ignite as easily as petrol :D:D May decide to spray the engine with a couple of gallons of super unleaded to get rid of the lakes of diesel that are lying about an pay particular attention to the exhaust downpipes then take it for a good "Burn up" down...
