    CD player fitted, fabricating the brackets took most of the day but it's one more thing done of the check-list. Now just got to find out why the steering wheel controls don't work.

    No I have not taken the spring clock of, always assumed that the loom would be the same and only switches would be added for extra features like radio controls and cruise control. Try and have a look later if weather allows, thank you Nodge.

    Just open it up and while closing it press the front down. Next chance take the glass of, clean it well and rubbers also.

    still trying to make the steering wheel controls to work and I found this diagram on the internet mine is not from 2002 but I guess it can be used as reference I took a look at the connections on the back of the radio and there seems to be something missing the grey plug is for power and...

    The mailman brought me this today Still using original radio R770 so it's an upgrade, just hope I can get the steering wheel controls to work now.

    It was only the switches that I bought, not the whole steering wheel. I think it came out of a Td4 because I got it from the same breaker I got my center console from, so it might have been the same car...

    got myself from the breaker some steering wheel controls for the radio (still have the original radio Phillips R770) so I tried to fit it as described on many threads and internet videos, cutting the steering wheel cover, nice tight fit but after reconnecting everything, it's not working...

    over the last days: fixed the exaust, and found out the VCU's rear bearing is seized fitted a center console, had to homemake the rear bracket since the breacker didn't sent it... also tried to fit some steering wheel controls but it is not so plug and play

    I'm thinking of 1/2'' steel pipe, I've done some metalwork in the past, on the Freelander I fixed the creaking rear subframe mounts and made my rear light guards
