    well I can vouch for this,i have the same symptoms on my 4.6,so I did a compression check,160 to 170 psi on all cylinders,so i remove the rocker covers and the exhaust valve on no 6 is barely moving,lobe almost round....bugger!! and it was a new cam and followers less than 3 thousand miles ago...

    i have changed so many of these its unreal.the cooling capacity of the p38 is barely adequate,block a third of the rad and watch it overheat

    stick your hand on the centre of the rad,pound to a penny it will be cold.do not waste your time trying to flush it,you will not succeed just replace it.ps when you refill the new rad use distilled water.

    did you try it in both directions, mine seemed to run on for an eternity before it stopped. i tried a known good motor too thats how i found out about the microswitch
