Unplug the binnacle & replace the 10amp fuse in position 1. If this fuse doesn't blow, then either the binnacle has faulted or it's the work you have completed, which means you have to undo everything you've done until you find what's blowing that fuse. Be careful. Having fuse one short out can...

    P38 4.6 v8 electrical faults

Check you front door window seals. After heavy rain a leaking seal can allow water to drip down onto the door amps. If they seem ok, go to the amp in the boot & take a look at the connectors. You may see some corrosion on them. Hope this helps until some more knowledgable advice comes along.

Can you send the becm to Cyprus or the UK?

Is BECM GEMS could be installed in 4.6 BOSCH motronic

It'll be cheaper to get your becm repaired as your lynx tool hasn't the ability to program a becm. How has your original becm been damaged? The rule of thumb is this, if you're going to replace your becm, you must go like for like. Match those numbers on the front of the becm. Get this wrong...

    No Keys

That is the only time I'd say buy the becm, key, ecu, door handle & ignition set. At least this will get you started but the vehicle electronics will be a mish mash, but can be addressed later if needed. This also stops the previous only from using the keys they have to nick it back. There's more...

You need diagnostics on the car. It's probably something minor, but without diagnostics it's just guesswork.

Use the damned AA. You pay therm for recovery & when or where you bought it is nothing to do with them. They make their money by recovering vehicles. I've done it many times. I've told them in the past that I've just bought it & the owners lied about some of the problems. If the AA start...

    Range Rover p38 gems woes!

If you've already tried a replacement ECU, & that's also blown, then it's another problem, like the loom or such. You will be the only person to solve this as you have the vehicle, & although this forum can guide you, it's just from guess work. Check connectors & no bent pins inside, but it's...

    Range Rover p38 gems woes!

He found the fault, he just needs to establish if this burnt track is a primary or secondry problem. The gems ecu itself could be shorting out, but the rule of thumb is this, if the engine has had work & this fault is evident after the work, then go back to the work done. The usual problem...

    P38A Stupid horn

Reading this thread is ringing alarm bells. I've seen this so many times where as soon as the battery is connected the horns blows until you disconnect again. This fault usually comes with the headlights on as well. Unless the horn itserlf has shorted out, I place my bets on the becm has...
