    P38 Relay 19 problem

It could be a dodgy glowplug earthing out on the engine.

    P38A Electrical Drama

You need gorilla tape without saying. This tape is important. How else do you stick the windscreen back in without it leaking & ruining the carpets?

Just replace the whole dashboard. I have one here for £2 grand. I'll fit it for another £2 grand, mates rates & all that.

OverLander, The nanocom should pick up on this fault.

P38A 2.5 DSA Auto screeming to 4000rpm before changing gear !

Ridiculous, we know. I had a P38 come to me from another garage. It had 3 gearboxes replaced, Visits to two main dealers & a couple of independents before they brought it to me. They thought I was mad when I diagnosed a £7 part.

P38A Possible correlation between flat battery and no cruise control?

During the process of the battery flatening, the becm becomes somewhat unstable & can turn features like the cruise control off.

Yep. Engine temperature sensor. It does this on the diesel auto's when this sensor fails.

Disco 2 Recomendation for BCM fit sync

There are no " Invasive" methods. They're done on a production line & no difference to a new BCU module. Discovery 3 BCM's are a tad more difficult. You're correct in that it's all extra money,

    T4 Testbook & cables?

Who in their right mind would wish to use T4. The only people I know who use it is because they have had the system years & always come to me for the complicated stuff, that gets successfully achieved using Faultmate / Rovacom. I just cannot see why anyone would wish to waste all the effort...

Disco 2 Recomendation for BCM fit sync

Immobilised BCU's don't need to be binned. We can unlock , repair & do whatever with them.

    Recon kit for wabco eas

Same as the bmw estate or tourer, I've been told, if it's the L322. If it's a P38 you can get the kit but make sure you also replace the piston barrel.

    P38A Key code lockout

We've been rebuilding fobs for years. Not something we advertise though.
  17. R

    1996 P38 KEY FOB

A previously used fob can be used, but only if the fob data is present & then you will only be able to program that one fob, rendering existing fobs none working. You cannot add a used additional fob to your existing set.

    P38A Key fob

Gadjetz, You must have had a keycode lockout at the start of all this. Flat battery etc? It sounds like the data has corrupted from within the becm hence only access is by using the EKA code. This can be sorted out.

    P38A Engine disabled

You could acquire another drivers door lock mechanism & plug it into the loom in the door. You can manipulate it by hand & see if it makes a difference. This test takes as long as it take to remove the door card.

    P38A Engine disabled

We're here if needed. If you can get diagnostics to the becm, get the diagnostics to activate the door locking & unlocking procedure & this will tell you if the door locks have a problem. Then go for re-synchronization. Fingers crossed that this may sort everything out. If you get no...
