MOT passed second time, failed as the brake lights didn’t come on and the front brakes were low, quick adjustment on the brake switch and a pressure bleeding kit and it passed ! Even the emissions.

Last little jobs done today, front wheels aligned, brakes adjusted, dashboard light fixed. MOT booked in for Thursday morning 9am! Wish me luck

Result ! Checked the engine timing and its spot on, re checked the skew gear to the A mark on the fuel pump timing and I was still out, skew gear out and round a tooth and its 90 deg to the pump, hmm after some head scratching I realised that the skew gear is held in with the grub screw behind...

Still playing around with the fuel pump timing, have ordered a new quill gear from turners to eliminate possible wear. Will get this fitted up and try again.

Right then, maiden voyage sprung a few issues, no high ratio, low power. High ratio fixed after some fetteling inside the transfer box! Still suffering from a lack of power which sound like a timing issue. First thought is that I have timed it to 15deg but as mine is a 10j engine should it be...

Front drivers side mud shield fitted, headlamps in and working but need alignment. Rear badge rivetted on. Only a few other bits to do, fit the heater hose from the blower, fit passenger mud shield, fit the glass into the front window and thats about it!

Front side lights and indicators installed, side vent, foam seal and fan in, brake vacume tank and window washer bottle fitted. Some fiddly jobs completed this afternoon. Tomorrow jobs include, fitting the front inner wing mud shields, replace bulb in the dash (or could be that the bulb holder...

One thing led to another, seeing that things were going together so well the bonnet decided to make a guest appearance. With a little adjustment and a trapped finger it was on.

Whoo hoo indeed, was going to wait to refit the windscreen before bolting on the wings but temptation took hold this afternoon, just couldn’t resist offering them up to the landy and before I could say “ four panel screws please” they were on.
