Having freshly galvanized the original chassis do I paint it black or leave it as it is ?

Still playing around with the fuel pump timing, have ordered a new quill gear from turners to eliminate possible wear. Will get this fitted up and try again.
 
Thank you all for the kind comments, At first I never liked the series landrover always thought the front looks too bulky and clumsy but since I started this resto I’ve been completely converted! I now understand that they were build with a purpose in mind and sleek looks didn’t come into the equation sometimes, hats off to the design team a true test of time as this blue beauty is now ready to roam the Anglesey roads for another 40 years (albeit at 45mph!)
 
Result ! Checked the engine timing and its spot on, re checked the skew gear to the A mark on the fuel pump timing and I was still out, skew gear out and round a tooth and its 90 deg to the pump, hmm after some head scratching I realised that the skew gear is held in with the grub screw behind the oil filter housing and that I hadn’t aligned it with the hold in the skew gear that lifts it up enough to alter the pump timing. Jesus just read that back to myself and it kinda make sense ! Anyway long story short after 6hrs of fetteling she’s a runner ! No smoke and pulls like a train even in 4th!
 
Fitted the spare on the bonnet and poped down the road for a few photos.

Only a few little jobs to finish her off
- make some stainless brackets for the front mud guards.
- borrow some mirrors to align the front wheels / tracking.
- adjust the brake shoes once they bed in a bit
- check the weather forecast for the week ahead
- get it booked in for an MOT on the sunniest day!

MOT passed second time, failed as the brake lights didn’t come on and the front brakes were low, quick adjustment on the brake switch and a pressure bleeding kit and it passed ! Even the emissions.

Tool box lined with foam cutout, just waiting for a new beach wooden jack handle to arrive and maybe I’ll order an authentic tool kit. Any suggestions where I could buy one ?

AMAZING work, I saw the start of this and then saw it was only a year ago, shame I wont be able to binge read it.... AMAZED you have nearly finished
