    Advice on Ali express

I've heard the horror stories, and had one of my banks point blank refuse to let me send money to that site, however, I've bought a couple of things through them, but paid via Paypal, as it offers an extra layer of protection, and the items did turn up, so I'd say go for it, but be savvy, use a...

Must be something about this time of year that sees our cars fight us... ...My beemer had an advisory on it's MOT last year for slight play on lower X/S/F balljoint. The X is important. Not a problem, I mot'd it a couple of days before going away on a trip offshore, followed by another long...

Classic Rev counter / tacho has stopped working

Should only be 3 wires on it, big brown is alternator to battery, smaller brown wire with yellow trace is ignition live "excitor", white wire is the tacho (rev counter) signal.

Freelander 1 Looking for axle weights for empty vehicle (3 door)

The vehicle's on loan to a friend, and I'm trying to work out tyre pressures for my new tyres, which I'm looking to fit back end of next week, if I get time. They are not an OE size of tyre, so I'm having to work out, and going with the old "max pressure of new tyre x (load on tyre / max tyre...

Drill lots of holes in your trunking, some of them get cable ties going through them, others get dome head cap screws going into your aforementioned rivnuts. simples.

Freelander 1 Looking for axle weights for empty vehicle (3 door)

HI, I'm looking for axle weights for an unladen 3 door hippo? I've found this in the manual: Our one is a Diesel Auto, so that will put it at the heavier end of the scale, call it 1525kg tare, and it's got a MAM / MGVW of 2050kg, but then the axle weights add up to 2170kg? What I'm really...

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

[I've retyped this message three times as I'm worried it sounds like having a go, which I'm not meaning to, so read between the lines] Surely if a bit of debris can cut through an orange plastic conduit, it would also cut through a plastic trunking? I accept that there is a need to protect the...

I know what you mean, but the wires would be double insulated, individually insulated, then insulated again as they go through their plastic conduit?

Rivnuts are great, I'd recommended them before, but didn't suggest them this time to try and keep the number/size of new holes constrained. If you're going with rivnuts, and those anchors, I'd suggest cap screws rather than hex headed conventional bolts, as I don't think there'd be a lot of room...
