Check where any wires pass through the bulk head if possible get someone with a hose to spray areas especially around where panels meet like the old freeland1 had the problem with the fish tank in the boot

have you got it open yet if not I can tell you a way of getting in.

what engine is it

if you going round a right hand bend and you get the knock it will be the left hand one and vice versa

if it has had a skimmed head put on or at least the original head skimmed and the later gasket on all will be good. probably the owner of the car could not afford the bill like my friend did the garage sold it kept the money for the job and gave him the rest.

it could be vibration of the engine onto the fire wall or inner wings check the engine mounting s are good

mine had an advisory for the ball joint cover and it was my usual place and he gave me a dust cover for it.

could be the pully wheel on the crank is separating.

have you put the vacuum pipes on correct or has the person before you

and you will need new clips as when you take that surround off the clips often break

get some T clips they are much wider than originals and better

I put a switch in line with the exciter wire from the head lamps which enables me to switch the roof light off so they do not come on with the full head lights if needed

I had a very similar problem but with mine it was the solenoid in the gearbox a few on here have done there own look through the threds and you will find them

I think they are the same as the body is the same length
