Bala was just not healthy for your truck on any level was it :D You not stripped the engine down yet? Find out what's causing the poor compression?

True :) New solenoid ordered from John Richards last night. I'll just stall it when I want it to stop until it arrives... still got PLENTY to do before I can MOT it anyway.

300 Tdi no fuel at injectors

Yeah... hope so. Ah well, could have been worse to be honest. The engine's only done 64,000 miles, but has sat in dry storage for at least 3 years, probably more.

It's definitely non EDC. I do have 12v at the solenoid, which has just a single male spade terminal. Just curious as to why it wasn't letting fuel through even though it seems to operate as it should. Ah well, I'll find out tomorrow when I fit the new solenoid

Just a quick thought; there wouldn't be any form of immoblisation on a late Defender 300 would there? (Engine code 23L). There's a multiplug coming from the top of the pump with 3 pins in it, but I'm fairly sure this is EGR related and is redundant.

Looking like another trip to Island 4x4 tomorrow then... Weird how it operates fine when out of the pump though.

Thanks all for the replies :D To clear it up... she's a manual with a non-EDC pump. I took out the plunger from the stop solenoid as suggested... sure enough I got fuel at the injectors and after a few cranks she fired right up... yippee! :) Whilst I had the solenoid out I tested it, and it...

300 Tdi no fuel at injectors

Hi all In the process of getting my freshly fitted 300 Tdi going. I've bled the fuel system in the following way so far; - Cracked off fuel filter bleed screw and got fuel coming through there. Filter is full. - Cracked off injection pump return line and got plenty of fuel coming through...

Exactly the same happened to my 110! And I was on the M25 when it happened! Mine was a Britpart bearing though, and had only been on for a thousand miles or so.

    Starting procedure 2.5D NA

By my calculations that alternator leaves the grand sum total of about 3 horsepower for actually moving the thing though haha :D Mightily impressive though. The SIZE of that cable! :0

    Starting procedure 2.5D NA

My 19j (2.5 TD) required at least 20 seconds of plug and a good amount of cranking before it would consider starting. Wouldn't touch the accelerator whilst starting, just leave it be. The best remedy for poor 2.5 NAD and 2.5 TD starting is of course to rip them out and fit a Tdi :D

What engine is it? Depending on just how much power we're talking about... a four-speed ZF would probably do the job fine.

Looks like a great little project. Those lift up handle doors look particularly good, what are the frames like?
