Depending on the future prices of the Defender, I may or may not get another. £15k for a TD5......err no ta. After owning a fair few of them over the years, there's no way I'm going to be paying the overinflated prices some owners are currently asking for what will largely be a rusty old tratter...

Sure there's an auto priming procedure on the TD5, .......from a previous post after a quick google...... Correct way of priming is, turn ignition on and wait for pump to stop running, then pump throttle pedal fully up and down five times. Pump will now run on and off for a couple of minutes...

Thread file and/or the correct die is the only way to try to restore that mess IMO.

Each to their own but for me, I'll stick with petrol/diesel whilst it's readily available. When the time comes - if I'm still around I'll then have an electric vehicle.

Think the 2wd version is the eD4. Yours just doesn't have terrain response with the electronic tweaks which adjusts torque, drive and traction control systems.

TD5 fuel system has high and low pressure sides, other than the fuel regulator located at the engine this is provided by the pump in the fuel tank. If a new new pump is needed, go for OE. It's a pain in the arse job on the defender as the tank needs to come out (unless you cut a hole in the tub...
