    L322 Does the L322 have a VCU ?

Hi, Just by way of an update, I did buy the L322 at what seems like a good price. It seems mostly to work and is cosmetically pretty good apart from one rear wing which is a bit rotten. It all seems to work mostly too (apart from the stereo buttons) -there is a spot of ‘aftermarket’ Bodgery...

    L322 Does the L322 have a VCU ?

They seem very clever and great, right up until the point they seize and trash your transmission ! If, god forbid, I ever buy another P38 I’ll be sure to check the VCU -although I’m more committed to getting / keeping mine in good Nick for now.

    L322 Does the L322 have a VCU ?

Hi, The viscous coupling in my P38's transfer box locked solid. The first consequence of this was the rear diff grinding itself apart whilst cruising at 70 in the middle lane of the motorway -it was not fun. Replaced the destroyed rear diff and then felt something wrong with the front end (it...

    L322 Does the L322 have a VCU ?

Aye, you’re probably right but I don’t have the time I need to get the old girl through her MOT (need to do the front upper and lower ball joints, replace a seat loom and replace the leaky heater matrix ‘o’ rings) and the boring car is waiting on a part from Germany and needs the heater matrix...

    L322 Does the L322 have a VCU ?

Having not learned my lesson with my P38, I’m looking at getting a seemingly inexpensive L322 to get me around until I can get the P38 (and my ‘boring’ car) back on the road. Having been burned by the VCU in my P38 (which trashed both rear and then front diffs on the way out) I was wondering...

    P38A Nanocom near Lanarkshire?

sorry just spotted this as have been otherwise engaged for a while and hiding from the huge list of jobs I need to do on my car, but I have a nanocom and I’m in Glasgow. It’s set up for Gems but it might be able to help with your key issues if you still have them

    P38A New P38 EAS

Hi, sorry to jump on the thread -I’m having similar trials with my EAS so replacing a reported faulty rear sensor and re-built my valve block. Just wanted to check where these potentially corroded white connectors might be in the passenger area -are they under the carpet ? Thanks Bob

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Rebuilt my EAS Valve block, some of those o-rings were hard and brittle and the diaphragm torn. Just need to change the height sensor and recalibrate (and do the other 25+ outstanding jobs !

    P38A Vibration through Steering wheel

Thanks…. the RR height sensor resolutely reports a value of 29 whatever height the suspension is actually at -the others seem much closer to target. I’ll check and clean the connection, I think I may have a replacement I can swap out -auk though I suppose that calls for recallibration ? -I’ve a...

    P38A Vibration through Steering wheel

Hi again, Sorry but I need to tap into your experience again as the jobs I have to do on the P38 mount up and up. after some ankle surgery, I’ve been using the RR as my daily driver and she’s just started to develop distinct vibration which I can feel through the steering wheel. It seems...

    P38A Soggy, Mouldy, Leaky P38

Thanks… I’m still really not sure what I should be doing and Rave isn’t much clearer imho ! I think I have 3 areas of concern: boot seal -clearly not fitting Sunroof -not flush -high at front, low at rear, possible seals / adjustment / drains heater matrix -leaky o-rings drivers footwell...

    P38A Soggy, Mouldy, Leaky P38

Ah, copy and paste worked (I used to just use the ‘upload a file’ button but that’s stopped working. you can see on the pics where the blooming desk won’t stay on, it’s far from Snug :(. I’m still super confused about what bit of the metalwork is supposed to be bent -is there a flange behind...

I must be being dense... the seal is failing / falling off at the join of the upper and lower tailgate but the metal is already flat... what should I do ? I can't seem to insert the photos

Do you bend it up to create an ‘L’ like profile or bend it out to flatten it ? Sorry if that sounds really dense, I’m assuming up to create a channel for the water to run round
