    R134a, Info required...

Yep, this is the can I've been using. At £19.99 + Free P&P in the UK it's not bad. However, it only contains 6 oz, as opposed to the 555ml in the £34.99 refillable tin, which incidentally holds a whole lot more - as good as 3 times as much for not even double the price. Thanks for your help.

    R134a, Info required...

Hi Stuart, and thanks for that very interesting input. To begin with, the item info you've sent seems to be almost the same as what Halfords are selling, except for £49.99, as opposed to your £34.99 instead, with Free P&P. And so far this is the best so far. And unless I am advised of anything...

Hi all. Having had the following Thread on the 'General Land Rover', Forum... for a few days, I had just the one reply. And although it was generally helpful it lacked any real depth of knowledge. I will now Paste the Thread, in the hope that a Freelander Owner might be able to help. It goes...

R134A Air Con Recharge Info Required.

Having just carried out a recharge on my Freelander 1 Td4 (2006), which was easy as well as successful (done it several times over the years to all my vehicles) I’m now down to my last 6oz tin, which was originally bought in France as a 3 x pack. And although I may not need to do it again for a...

I just replaced my Rear Diff's front shock absorber. Easy.

Thanks, Sax. I robbed that Gate-Guard to bits myself, in order to keep the Old-Grey-Ladies airborne. My success was my own downfall! I kept the Old Birds flying to the point where they wouldn't promote me. To do that they would lose me from (8) Sqdn, RAF Lossiemouth. And those who were above me...

I just replaced my Rear Diff's front shock absorber. Easy.

Jeez, you've been around. From the beginning, Waddington (Vulcan B2), Lossiemouth (Shackleton AEW - found & fixed many faults [one especially was potentially lethal to the Gound & Air Crew] from its original build which no-one else could do), Brize Norton (Tri-Star, found a fault that grounded...

Hi Andy. I haven't read you post but be rest asured if it is similar to my own then well done, mate. It's times like this when those, like ourselves, can adapt and learn as we plod along, helping others to do the jobs that some make out to be more difficult that they need to be. Keep up the good...

I just replaced my Rear Diff's front shock absorber. Easy.

Thanks for that, Freelaner. My past has been involved with the RAF, where i was trained to recover and repair damaged aircraft in a wartime situation, which more or less crosses all the borders of engineering. So when I come across a situation that may seem daunting or complicated, i can...

    Td4 Lack of power at 70mph - fixed !

No, a Freelander 1, a TD4, but the running systems and theories are very similar in their nature. And that's the thing, with Land Rovers, the running systems often overlap enough to learn from the experience of others with different models to teach & educate what can be done to fix similar...

I just replaced my Rear Diff's front shock absorber. Easy.

Yeah, I can see what you mean. It is a rubber-mounted bush - of course, while also absorbing the shock. As for the weather, my wife and I have just enjoyed our first BBQ of 2018, with sunshine galore ( I was wearing shorts) and chilled wine, cold beer and lots of grilled stuff. I would hate to...

    Td4 Lack of power at 70mph - fixed !

I had the same problem, starting with the same split hose, and I was pulling a caravan at the time. I replaced the Turbo Boost Solinoid and the MAF as well. I checked all the joints on the hoses (now replaced) and it runs sweet, pulling lots of weight up really steep hills in 5th with ease. I...

Freelander 2 (LR2) TOW BAR OR NO TOW BAR

FL2... Bike carrier? Don't know. You lack an external spare wheel don't you? Which is a pity as the wheel carrier can be used to carry a few bikes. I'm buying one on Ebay, for about £75 all in. I don't suppose this helps you, but it might give you some ideas. Good luck.

I just replaced my Rear Diff's front shock absorber. Easy.

I suspected my FL1 rear diff’s front shock-absorber was faulty, having heard knocks when previously driving/gear-changing. Having researched the diff’s noises, which is a common problem, and how to go about replacing the shocks, I decided to visually investigate. I discovered the rubber was...
