Hi all. Having had the following Thread on the 'General Land Rover', Forum... for a few days, I had just the one reply. And although it was generally helpful it lacked any real depth of knowledge.
I will now Paste the Thread, in the hope that a Freelander Owner might be able to help. It goes thus...

... Having just carried out a recharge on my Freelander 1 Td4 (2006), which was easy as well as successful (done it several times over the years to all my vehicles) I’m now down to my last 6oz tin, which was originally bought in France as a 3 x pack. And although I may not need to do it again for a year-or-so I like to have the stuff in stock - just-in-case.

With that in mind, I’ve been browsing the www to locate replacement recharge cans. I find the price of the stuff has gone quite high since I last bought it, and the number of suppliers, it seems, has reduced.

Halfords (UK) - as one supplier, advertises two tins. One is for sealing leaks and topping-up; and the other is a larger & refundable (£10) can. Has anyone used these and might they know the amount/weight of contents in each? Metric or Imperial will do.

Also, the large-can is supposed to be refillable… has anyone got any information on that? For instance, in the Halfords video on recharging a car’s system, it’s mentioned the can is pierced as part of the process. Can it be refilled by any air-con service agent, or is it only Halfords that can do that?

I reside in Spain and R134a and its replacement is no longer available to buy over the counter, sadly. Any car here must have its air-con' system carried out by a Government Registered Garage, where their prices have gone really high in consequence - hence my preference for DIY. And as I’m about to head for the UK, I would like to return home with a reasonable supply.

Thanks, in anticipation.

Hi Stuart, and thanks for that very interesting input. To begin with, the item info you've sent seems to be almost the same as what Halfords are selling, except for £49.99, as opposed to your £34.99 instead, with Free P&P.
And so far this is the best so far.
And unless I am advised of anything better this is what I will go for.
Thanks. Your help is much appreciated.
