She’s looking quite well. Brakes aren’t great - going to do another bleed. Fair bit of smoke under load when I took her down the road. Is this fairly normal if it hasn’t been run for a while? I’ve had it idling but not had it under boost for a good month. @Hicap phill? Not sure what I want to...

Been doing little bits here n there as not getting solid time to fettle. Mainly freshening front end up. Really satisfying but annoying stop starting: New rocker cover gasket Front bearings Front stub axle seals and one new stub New n/s gkn drive shaft and cv New N/s swivel oil Front discs...

That rear chassis been welded so the weld is perpendicular? Looks a bit grotty don’t it

Those skins make welding in that area a bit trickier - they are basically curved 2mm angle iron working as a brace. You’ll soon see them!

    Bankzs 110 CSW XS Build

Disclaimer - not telling you how suck eggs!!! Where you have the rot and towards the front where the crossmember and rear spring hangers are, there are crush tubes (for the shock mounts) and also there’s double skins either side of the rail that are like inner fish plates. Bare that in mind...

I reckon the cubby box is the right shout mate. Front facing seats and the cubby box looks like it’s meant to be!

Discovery 2 - favour from a d2 owner. auto shifter surround

I’m fond of it in German 80s/90s barges too. Fully specced out 5 and 7 series with the walnut trim looks the nuts imo but a lot of people hate it.

This is as far as I’ve got - all these bits have had to have fresh walnut burl. I know it’s an acquired taste but I love wood trim in an older car!!

Discovery 2 - favour from a d2 owner. auto shifter surround

Done that for some bits mate, just don’t trust myself getting the right curve which is why worst comes to worst I’d use a d2 one, add/remove material then veneer over the top.

Sorry it didn’t notify me of responses. Just length and width at widest points of please. Even better if of the trim itself. I have the walnut window switches but the d1 full wood centre console trim is hens teeth - not sure if it was yank only. I want to see how much out the shifter is on the...

    Discovery 3.9 v8 - rebuilds, reliability, options….

Hi again all, am I right in assuming all variants use the same chassis mount locations? I’d assume they made the 3.9 disco engine to fit the same as the 3.5 to avoid chassis differences and then all the blocks are the same anyway? Cheers

Hi all Could I ask for a favour if someone please in that they measure the plastic edge of the d2 shifter surround where it meets the centre console? Thanks!
