This is as far as I’ve got - all these bits have had to have fresh walnut burl.If you want it that bad why not just buy a piece of walnut veneered timber, maybe even MDF veneered and cut it to size?
I got a walnut veneered dashboard blank for a kit car and then cut it and shaped it to fit the instruments and switches I had obtained then shaped it to take the steering wheel column and the interior so it was mostly curves. For a 1930s SS jaguar lookalike. Funnily the originals had painted metal!
Me too, I do kit cars that look like 1930s cars and they all have wooden dash's, door caps, gearlever knobs etc. They can be a lot of work though and maintenance is something lots of peeps couldn't be bothered with. This is as far as I’ve got - all these bits have had to have fresh walnut burl.
I know it’s an acquired taste but I love wood trim in an older car!!

I’m fond of it in German 80s/90s barges too. Fully specced out 5 and 7 series with the walnut trim looks the nuts imo but a lot of people hate it.Me too, I do kit cars that look like 1930s cars and they all have wooden dash's, door caps, gearlever knobs etc. They can be a lot of work though and maintenance is something lots of peeps couldn't be bothered with.
