    OK, so having had a quick look and using the screwdriver-pushed-up-to-the-ear stethoscope, the whining appears to be coming from the alternator. Is there something I have missed about alternator technology?

    Hi all, I've noticed a high pitched whine (like a noise something electrical/electronic might make) when the RR is switched off, key out of the ignition. I can hear it in the engine bay with the bonnet up. I was surprised to find the battery flat this morning as it started fine yesterday...
