    lpg experts i need advice

I had a similar thing on Grand Cherokee (luckily spotted the fuel gauge heading south as I was on the motorway). Installers replaced the ECU. That sorted it for a while but then it started happening again within 2 weeks. In the end they replaced everything under warranty (except the tank...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Stopped crying. Went to See Odyssey whose nanocom removed the airbag warning from my dash and put a smile back on my face. :)

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Discovered plug 202. Discovered plug 202 was very poorly. Surgically removed plug and soldered / heat shrunk all wires (OBD socket now working :o). Removed 3m of co-axial cable from a previous car phone install. Removed 4m of 2-core mains cable that had been used for something once upon a time.

    Couple of general queries

Hi all, 2 things: firstly, at the moment my '96, 4.0 has a donut LPG tank in the spare wheel well. When these machines have an actual spare wheel languishing in there, is the bottom of the well sealed, either normally original steel or with a rubber grommet-type affair. I think the rubber...

Nice job. Now, if we can get that to talk to a bluetooth OBD plug-in, and have an app to read all the info in zebcrs' post with the touch screen replacing the lcd one, we could have an all-singing-all-dancing media/info centre. Any brainy gits out there?

    Dear Santa...

Sadly, my young chap is currently at the RR doctor's for some petrol bypass surgery. He'd had it before and that seemed to go OK but time has taken its toll and the surgery needs re-doing. As soon as I get him back, I'll check his port, and plugs, and everything else I need to do......

    Dear Santa...

I did, I did, I bloody did!! Promise... Is it possible to buy OBD sockets 'new' as a kit maybe? (Found and ordered one). I checked (and changed for good measure) the fuse and all's well there but still nothing at the socket end. I am going to try and follow the wiring back from the socket too...

    Dear Santa...

Dear Santa, I knew it wasn't true that you didn't exist. Many thanks for turning up at my door with your nanocom. Now, who knows why my OBD socket isn't talking to Santa's nanocom that clearly works fine on his fine example of the species? And yes Rachelkgr, that's the fellow! It's a chap...

    Dear Santa...

Hi Datatek, its a '96 so no seat airbags. Think the steering wheel airbag may be at fault as I'm pretty sure someone's had the wheel off (not centred when the wheels are; indicators self-cancel - too early one way, too late the other, and the instrument binnacle doesn't marry up with dash top)...

    Dear Santa...

Dear Odyssey...er, I mean Santa. There aren't any particular woes that have raised their respective heads as I type and that in itself is the thing that made me write my list. Simply put, I have no faith in the previous owner of my 4.0 nor in anything that he said has been done with the car...

    Dear Santa...

Please can I have a new friend who lives in/near Chesterfield who might own diagnostic equipment and be open to bribes of coffee/tea/beer/vodka/fags or cold hard cash to come and tell my P38's vehicular fortune. Thanks Nige Aged 51 and a half PS. And a Johnny 7 wouldn't go amiss if you have...

    Relay colours?

Swapped all relays for resistor version from Beal. No probs arising and red LED seems to have finally gone out. Not sure if that's what helped as I also installed an extra earth from the alternator body as per Javars' post the other day.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Installed extra earth cable as per Javars, swapped all green relays for similar bought from Beal.org.uk. Just noticed tonight that the red LED appears to have finally disappeared and for the first time in days, RR had enough juice left in battery to start car having been left still for a day...

    Relay colours?

Just pulled 2 of mine and the diagram clearly shows a resistor on the diagram, not an induction coil or diode.

    Relay colours?

Time to throw some fuel on the fire then....having looked around I've found that there can be either a diode or a resistor fitted onto some relays. Beal (Workshop Supplies & Consumables - Beal UK | Workshop Equipment | Garage Supplies) offer a 40A relay with a resistor across the coil that the...

    Relay colours?

Hi All, just a quick one for anyone who knows.....are there any differences between the coloured relays (yellow, green, etc) in the engine bay fuse box (and I'm guessing in other locations) and a bog-standard black-bodied relay, either 4-pole or 5-pole as required, that you get from a motor...

    High Pitched Whine

Alternator swapped out, no more noise. Weirdly the noise stopped as the alternator moved as I removed it. May be a loose connection internally. Refurb time.
