Freelander 1 Alarm Sounds when locked

How do I check it please? Not a hint of a leak of any of it's "bodily fluids"...very Un-Landylike!

Freelander 1 Alarm Sounds when locked

Definitely! I topped up with OAT coolant yesterday. There was some frothy residue in the header tank. No sign of anything untoward under engine oil filler cap. When I bought my P38, the engine needed a complete rebuild as previous owner had boiled all coolant away. My cheapo Bluetooth OBD2...

Freelander 1 Alarm Sounds when locked

I only bought my car last week, but the previous owner said if I took the door card off, I'd find a means of adjusting the rear window. Too many other issues to sort out before looking at that. Mike.

Freelander 1 Alarm Sounds when locked

Did you perhaps"pass wind" intermittently that your car took objection to  I suspect that's how mine opened:cool:

What have you done to your Freelander today

Treated the absolutely filthy Freelander to an IMO cheapo wash. Now looking infinitely better! Bought and topped up OAT Anti-freeze. Bought upholstery cleaner with intention of attacking the manky, stained cloth upholstery. Previous owner said he'd never cleaned it since buying it:eek: Glowered...

Freelander 1 Alarm Sounds when locked

I had similar this evening upon locking driver door with key. I have a remote that is just an ornament currently. Only had car 3 days, so will replace remote batteries asap. In addition to the alarm sounding just once each time I locked the car, a red light blinked furiously on the dash, so I...

    Freelander 1 OBD2 port

Well...quelle surprise! I found the OBD2 Socket, under its cover in passenger footwell. Plugged in my cheapo Bluetooth thingy and...managed to get sensible info via Torque Pro! After many overheating incidents on my P38 4.6 with LPG conversion, I want to get real time ACTUAL temperature...

    Engine cuts out

I had an issue with an AUDI A8 which would cut out without warning at ANY point after starting OK. In that case it was the Crankshaft Position Sensor that was intermttently giving up the ghost, once in the middle of a major railway crossing at rush hour. I got a BOSCH replacement from eBay -...

    Freelander 1 OBD2 port

I thought that the pins looked very similar to the OBD2 layout - and that they looked rather oxidised. Went to the boat and picked up a tin of Contact cleaner. Am I correct in believing that my 2002 is a "Freelander 1"? M.

    Freelander 1 OBD2 port

Aha...mine's a 2002 vintage TD4...so it seems I hadn't missed it after all:cool: I did notice a receptacle on my search in vain for the ODB2 port - likely to accept a device of some sort - in the under bonnet fuse "box". Thanks for your message, Nodge! Mike.

    Freelander 1 OBD2 port

Hahaha..it has been three years or more since I darkened their establishment! However, I think you may just need to amend yer moniker...to GenialGel  Mx

    Freelander 1 OBD2 port

Thanks for the photos, Arctic2! It didn't occur to me that there'd be a cover! There serpently wasn't on my 2000 4.6 Vogue. Not under my ownership, anyway! Mike.

    Freelander 1 OBD2 port

 I started there, as that's where it resides on my P38  Thanks for the info, GG...and for NOT being sarcastic/deprecating with your response :)

    Freelander 1 OBD2 port

I'm nowhere near as flexible as I used to be, but having contorted myself to the max, I can't find the OBD2 port anywhereo_O Please put me out of my misery...I'm desperate to plug in my handy Bluetooth thingy and see what TorquePro may enlighten me with:cool: There's no handbook with the car...

    OH DEAR!!!

Don't let me anywhere near your excellent head of hair John...we'd end up matching styles & you know you wouldn't want that  I'll put my orbital polisher in the car next time I'm around your neck of the woods...just in case you change your mind

    OH DEAR!!!

Haha. Wouldn't have been necessary if I could've fixed my P38 4.6 Thor... At the minute, the TD4's fulfilling a need. I have a Citroën C2 that's totally reliable, BUT my L4/L5/S1 spinal problems mean I just can't sit comfortably in it

Tests new Freelander 1 owners should do on their car

Thanks for that useful info. I just saw "vacant" propshaft flanges front and rear, cursed a bit...a LOT...then headed back indoors. I'll try tomorrow to get the car on a garage ramp or, failing that, on those cheapo ones I can borrow at the boatyard. M.

    OH DEAR!!!

Don't need ANY of the above...other than for my chest hair :D

    OH DEAR!!!

Thanks for the advice...already put several posts on the "Dark side"! I coulda/shoulda/would checked out about propshafts BEFORE I bought the FL1. I went out AFTER reading about them and kicked myself, as it's in 2WD mode:mad:
