Fair play! I might treat myself to a cheeky one or two at Christmas, but I’ve had enough! I saved a small fortune last month not having alcohol in my shopping basket, lost about 4kg and didn’t take a single paracetamol or ibuprofen. I’d like more of that, thank you very much.

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks, you also can’t teach an old dog that drinking a whole bottle of port to himself will result in a stupendous headache the next day. Back on the wagon for me!

Indeed I am. I should be outside making room in the Landy for my passengers, but I’m absolutely hanging. I’m not drinking again.

    Help identifying my defender 90!!

What the dealer said is correct. The windows do not look like standard, so more than likely have been added by a previous owner. Looks like a nice Landy anyway. It may be a bit slow, but the 12j is a steady old girl.

    Value of 1987 Defender 90

With a farm vehicle, you really need to give the chassis a good inspection. Mud, **** and **** from livestock can reek havoc on the steel.

    Value of 1987 Defender 90

Difficult to say without seeing it! But I’d say at today’s prices, that’s an attractive price.

    Defender Wheels, what are these?

    Split rim modular steels.

    Reverse light always on.

Just take the bloody switch out and test it! :D The contact pin that depresses may just be stuck. Once you’ve tried the switch, then start worrying about faulty wiring.

    Cab Heating/cooling

No idea, I’ve never been to Thame! Although funnily enough, I was at a car boot in Tetsworth for the first time today and that’s about as close to Thame as I’ve ever been. I’ll be sure to look out for them if I ever go there. Don’t mind a good pie.

    Cab Heating/cooling

It’s not uncommon for the cables to not work and the flaps on the heater matrix are stuck open/shut resulting in permanent hot or cold air and air flow when the fan is actually not switched on.

    I’ve just won a Defender!

    Take the 20k, buy a different Defender that’s not so modded for 10k. Job’s a good’un.

    I’ve just won a Defender!

“We will also be giving the winner an additional £1,000 to help towards running costs (insurance, tax, fuel, mods, etc.).” Hopefully this is an annual thing

Defender 90 Unusual front light lenses?

They look more light North American Spec (NAS) than military spec.

You’ve had an odd life

Indicators, Horn and Washer has stopped working

You’ve eaten the chicken before you’ve even counted it!? Savage! Sounds bloody good though, better than head under the bonnet looking for Landy issues for sure!

Indicators, Horn and Washer has stopped working

@v8250 is probably going to take home the prize today. The horn, indicators and washer don’t normally have a shared earth (me thinks), but as it’s ex-MoD and conversion, the wiring would almost certainly have been meddled with. Behind the NS plastic light panel is probably where the earthing...

Indicators, Horn and Washer has stopped working

Check the wiring on the near side front, under the bonnet, maybe hiding under the inner wheel arch. Check from bulkhead to where they terminate. Also check the fuses, of course, I think the washer is on a different fuse to the other two, but maybe not!

What have you used to fill old rivet holes..

Maybe you were looking at “rivnut” tools? They start at about £20-25.
