If there’s a good bit of play, they don’t usually last after removing a shim. I tried that a couple of months ago to save doing the bearings and it was fine for about a week, then the top bearing collapsed

I put atf in my td5 r380 as that’s all I had and quite quickly got notchy on gear changes. Changed it for smith and Allen mtf94 and the gear changes improved immediately

Likely the previous owner fitted the window themselves and the fuses will be tucked away somewhere
