    Rear brakes TD4

The ebay compatability guidance is quite random. Especially brakes. I have had sets of pre 2000 disc pads arrive when I ordered post 2000. Many suppliers think all FL1s are the same. Easiest to do you own research and buy what you think. GG is right about any difference being 2000 based year...

Freelander 1 Fuel Burning Heater - still on with temperature normal SOLVED

Some clarification please. My FBH runs at 5 degrees or below which is correct. When the car is fully warmed up and outside temperature still below 5 degrees it still runs. Reading RAVE, the internal FBH ECU should detect the coolant temperature and then control the FBH as required. Do I have...

    Freelander 1 Auto 1.8

Talking about the gear on the starter motor end. Just checking the fitting hadn't been weakened. But welded should work. Until you want to replace the cog 😀

    Headlight cleaning

I know it is another topic, but for rear brakes, loosen handbrake cable under armrest console, access through rear panel which unclipped. Strip, clean and apply copper grease to bearing surfaces. Reassemble. Fit drum, apply foot brake and ensure adjust works. Then adjust cable for one click to...

Freelander 1 Anyone sorted key chip cloning??

The other thing to watch is some key blanks don't have the recess cut all the way to the plastic holder. If cut, the key works in doors and ignition but not the fuel cap !! Ask me how i know 🤔

Freelander 1 Anyone sorted key chip cloning??

Freelander 1 Turbo whistle gone suddenly (SOLVED)

Td4 Freelander 1 turbo kicks in about 1750RPM with a whistle. If no whistle most likely problem is either a boost hose or the small vacuum hoses that feed the turbo operating vanes.

    Freelander 1 Tailgate Rubber Seal

I think warm is good, melted rubber is not so good ! The mastic is under the seal and holds it firm to the paintwork. Going to be difficult to get solvent in there. Maybe a hypodermic and inject into the sealant.

    Freelander 1 Tailgate Rubber Seal

Exciting !! Thanks. With new seals at around £300 got to be worth investing £11. Cheers.

    Freelander 1 Tailgate Rubber Seal

I have a perfect condition tailgate seal on a scrap vehicle. I want to reuse it. Has anyone worked out how to dissolve the adhesive mastic at the top in order to get it off the metalwork without ripping the seal? Thanks.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Reconfigured rear lamps to put fogs and reverse down where they should be and brakes and indicators at proper height. Also now have 4 x sidelights with brake and fog to increase visibility. These fit in the brake (old fog) holders to give double filament with only 1 mm or 2 off with a craft...
