First registration date for 300 defender?

And is it 100% factory 300? Not (so far as you know) a dealer upgrade? R380 and discs on the back etc? 48 spline steering?

First registration date for 300 defender?

So yours is 100% factory 300 (not a later mod, dealer or otherwise) and L reg? Do you know the first registration date? (Dvla website says if you enter in the reg). I'm thinking probably June or July of 1994? Although def man's is even earlier!

First registration date for 300 defender?

Trying to work out when the earliest date was for 300 era components. The reason - Dvla has an odd rule whereby IF parts were fitted by the manufacturer to a line within a 10 year period of build, you are allowed to fit them, retrospectively, without loosing "points" on their system. My...

First registration date for 300 defender?

Some L reg 200s at the end of the cycle had disc brakes on the rear. Were the very first 300s only m reg, or were there any before August 1994? What about the r380? I'm guessing none of them were ever fitted to 200s, so would have been linked (in time) to the 300, right? My own factory 300...

    300tdi defender smoking

That air is coming from somewhere. Find out where and your problem is sorted. Sounds like a good test / result to me. When it's hot and you shut it down, see if you can't hear anything hissing on any of the pipes as it sucks the air in. I know you've replaced a load of stuff but the air...

Where is best to buy 80% phosphoric acid best for chassis rust removal?

I just buy small amounts of eBay. You don't want to use it at 80% either. Curiously it works better when you water it down a bit

Options for getting rid of 110 windows?

I thought the mesh guards were always designed to go on the outside of the windows (for break ins, animals etc) rather than on the inside (to stop internal stuff breaking the windows)? Am I wrong? My windows are also rattly moss covered things, so I wouldn't be sad that all that was gone also...

1996 Disco 1 owner looking for a replacement front bumper

I didn't think bumpers were an mot thing? I guess if it has sharp edges though... I have a disco winch bumper out the back that I've been meaning to flog, but I'll be further than will be worth you travelling. (J27/M5) Edit - Pretty sure this is the one I have but I don't remember it...

Options for getting rid of 110 windows?

I removed the rear bench seats, so it's not like anyone needs the window open at the back. I'm unsure of how much I use the visibility out of those windows when driving. I don't think I use them at all, but, maybe, I should put paper over them for a while, just to be sure, before committing...

Options for getting rid of 110 windows?

I think (maybe) the render is off the jaguar landrover site. All those shaded renders there make them look smarter than they ever seem to in reality!

Options for getting rid of 110 windows?

The internet seems to think that 88 series sides are what I need. You have to remove a bit by the door that I think is, maybe, spot welded or something (ie fairly easy surgery). There are nice looking pairs on eBay (buy it now) for £120 ish, and rougher ones for less than a ton, but, sadly...

Options for getting rid of 110 windows?

Hmm... now ive found the name, i think ive found the part? https://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/da4692-defender-110-utility-wagon-trim-panel-supplied-as-a-pair-with-cargo-net.html (etc) Do you reckon thats the one? Thank you.

Options for getting rid of 110 windows?

I have a 110 csw. The rear (side) windows are close to useless for a variety of reasons. I'd rather they were not there. I'm aware that 88" sides can be used to replace the whole panel with limited bother, but do I have any options for internal trim? There were (I think) some factory 5...

    Excessive smoke MoT failure

I think (rightly or wrongly) a lot of people change the fuel filter and fill it up with neat snake oil, in the hope of an "attack dose". Either way, I would certainly do the filters prior. No point in loosening up anything that the filter has managed to catch prior. Do the fuel filter before...

Buzzweld 2k epoxy primer mask requirements?

Epoxy isn't (in itself) an isocyanate. So then you're really just dealing with the extent to which you want your lungs covered with epoxy. I wouldn't do it, but I'm sure you will. You'll probably be ok.
