    What makes you think the VM is woeful? Is it a 2.4 or 2.5? The 2.5's easily out perform Tdi's stock for stock. In fact you'd need a stoutly modded Tdi to match the stock 2.5 VM.

    33.1” but still an inch short and likely more compared to many 9.00’s, which as said, they can go as tall as 37”. A 255/85 can be used but it’s a bit like putting 205’s on a 90…… If you look up the specs. A 255/85 is shorter than an 8.25 x 16, which is the size down from a 9.00.

    In the UK the Peltas have been impossible to get for years.... unless you know of a supply. I don't think there is any such size as a 285 r 16, do you mean 285/75R216? If so, it is no where close to a 9.00 x 16, way too fat and way too short. They are well under 33".
