hi hammy, ideally i would like to compare my rangies handling soon, i might go for new shocks but ideally like someone to tell me that definately the problem and see how a rangie should handle. hi mate your not that far away but too far away for a casual jaunt at 20mpg :D:D i live right next...

hi im in stevenston, ayrshire, scotland, is there many scottish members on here im looking for someone who knows p38's to drive mine and see if they think the handling is a bit too soft, it maybe new shocks would help but id rather find out that there deffo a problem before i spend the time...

i have been under the front and nothing looks amiss, i dont have anyone to bounce the car or shake the steering so i was not able to test very well for now. The shocks look as though they would be easy to change is this the case and how much are a set of 4. ? i will try assessing how i drive...

ill get the front up on ramps and have a looky, i cant jack the car, a certain person sold me the rangie without a jack and wheels spanner, shocking aint it, i have a trolley jack but it likely not rated heavy enough for a heavy beast like the rangie also i set the pressures to 34f and 36r ...

thanks for all the replies people, i know its not fair to compare a car to a rangie, but the 3 4x4's i have owned before did not have this handling problem N frontera 2.8tdi W frontera 3.2 N toyota surf 3.0td the toyota has bilstein shocks and was a harsh ride, the newer fronty was harsh...

and yes i did try searching first :D whats the recommended tyre pressures for 19" wheels, the rims and tyres are off a new rangie but the book only gives pressures up to 18" wheels, any advice guys ?

lol that will be fun :D ill see if i can find the time to check out the suspension, ill give it a wee bounce in the mean time and see if the shocks seem ok, whats the psi for 19" wheels the book only tells me f28 and r38 for 18" wheels

im assuming the larger wheels wont have raised the car as the outer diameter of the tyres are the same (im assuming this. :) i dont know anyone with a rangie to compare the ride with, i would buy shocks if it would help but dont want to spend a lot.:cool:

do i just compress the shocks and see if it bounces to check them ? i have not checked the tyres pressures, the car has new 19" wheels and tyres off of the new rangie so unsure what they should be set at. also the car has just passed an mot would that suggest the shocks are fine ?

i have had my 2000 p38 4.6 vogue for a month now and although i find keeping the suspension set at motorway helps a lot i still find it a pita going round corners and roundabouts, its a bit scary unless you drive round corners slowly, i recently misjudged a corner and was going a bit fast and i...

imo it does look nice but i thonk it looks a bit odd having the modern front and rear and bumpers etc and then an older body shape, the newer stuff looks out of place imo, although only going by the pics i have seen, i think a front grill is a nice addittion.

hi guys is there any breakers specialise in land rovers and do mail order, or is there even any in scotland ? i was thinking of trying to source an lpg kit for a rangie p38 but it may be impossible to get one :confused:

i have done 70 miles today, before departing i put the 'manual mode' button in and selected the motorway height, my journey thru country roads and towns was a lot better than at the standard height, so why oh why does the standard height exist if it tries to throw your passengers out the window :D

ill live with them just now, who knows what will be the best solution, i dont mind the standard grey plastic so i dont know if i should get the entire bumper stripped and painted from scratch (someday lol)

after looking at other pictures does the 2000 vogue not have unpainted bumpers as standard, somone has painted the grill and trims below the lights, all with the same dull finish.
