I know this sounds stupid but when my early series 2a wouldnt start I found I connected the battery the wrong way round, because I forgot it was positive earth. The engine turned the right way but the coil did not produce any current. Just a thought! :)

I looked at the paddocks site and they dont have any I want. One of the tyres fitted to my landy is a Deestone extra traction. Where could I get some?

I used the hole in the middle of the brake drum which released the rust, then I just had to simply pull off the drum! I degreased the shoes (looks like the oil seal needs replacing) and the drum, put it and the wheel back on and now when I try to do an emergency stop it stops without pulling to...

Ooh!! is that what the hole at the front of the drum is then??

Ok tried the hammer and punch, diddnt work. Drilled the head off the screw but now I come to the next problem, the drum is completly stuck. I have tried slacking the adjusters right off and that diddnt work. Tried brute force and that diddnt work. Tried the hammer and that method also is not...

Couldnt you just unbolt the earth from the battery?:rolleyes:

When we picked up our 1965 2a the battery was discharging and we seem to have found the problem. When we took the voltage regulator lid off when all the wires were connected to the box, the points that stop the dynamo discharging the battery stuck when they were pushed as if it was like a magnet...

Ok when I took the fuel sender unit out I slowly moved the float up and when I get just before the full position the guage reads just under half full. But when I move the float just a fraction more, the guage hits the full mark

One wire goes to the fuel sender unit and two more wires coming off the same point go to the fuse box. On the other side of the fuse box that wire goes to the ignition switch

That is the heater switch
