Tried that, 2nd opinion was at a highly recommended 4x4 specialist ( not a main dealership), he wanted to replace the flywheel for 880 plus vat. Quoted 375 for the part, rest was labour and incidentals, grrr

I don't believe it!!! Idiiot at garage disturbed some of cooling system when taking gearbox out, nett result: no coolant. Driven about 10 miles,then warning lights a Gogo. Turned heater on to full blast and pulled over to check. No wonder it was over heating, reservoir tank drier than a nun's...

Thanks Andy, I wish you could too! Definitely going to get to know more about the Freelander, Do all mechanic's see someone female and take it as an excuse to pass a load of bollix off as superior knowledge? Or just the ones in Yorkshire?
