I think its located properly in the back of the wheel, I did turn the coupler tho, without pushing the little tab in :( Cant remember how it was, :( Wonder if ive fluffed it ? Oh well could always get another one, im sure there not too much from a breakers,

is it the door lock sticking causing the door not to open ? If so unlock car, leave it unlocked, door will then open, = Mot pass ! :) Is your steering box leaking ? Rust inner arches, sills, boot floor ? I think your little list might be the least of your worries on a disco :) lol !

1998 Disco 1 V8 3.9 auto Just took my steering wheel off to centre it, There was a plastic ring behind it, that the wires come through, I disturbed this, (turned it) I put the wheel back on, now it clicks when i turn the wheel, Have i fooked it ? or can you reset it somehow ?

Auto is much nicer and easier, especially for laning, Rust - check inner wings, sills, boot floor, rear crossmember, inside rear arch, Also check gearbox, and hi low and diff lock, plus the usual car buying things !

Went to change my steering box today on my disco 1 3.9 v8 auto, I have undone the drop arm ball joint, 4 bolts on side, 19mm nut on side at bottom, steering column uj, and 2 pipes on top, I have been wiggling for an hour but it wont come out, any advice. Its such a tight fit past coolant...

Handbrake holds car ok, so hoping not to have to take off prop, got a few bits to do for mot, Just have to pull the lever too far up, Any idea which way you turn bolt on back to tighten handbrake ? I could just try it both ways, lol ! Thanks for guide busterbus, brilliant how - to's !

Need to adjust my hardbrake, lever comes up too high, Ive got a disco v8 auto 98, I removed the window switches, there is a wheel ontop of the handbrake cable, it turns but is very stiff, does this adjust the cable ? If so which way do you turn it to tighten the cable ?

My handbrake cable sticking, what system are on these cars ? Do they just have one cable, looks like the defender handbrake works on the prop shaft, not at each rear wheel, is it the same for disco ? Any tips ? My handbrake seems floppy til it gets to the on position

Mm 4x4, recon box 109 quid, 12 months warrenty, mibe came yesterday, fitting it tomorro, i ordered a drop arm aswel as they seize on, only 30 quid extra

My lower seal leaks, i was thinking of changing the seal but it looks like its been leaking for a while, also it wears a groove in the shaft and leaks past the new seal

Good idea, that would of saved me 150 quid lol ! Just google mm 4x4, its about 150 with a drop arm aswel delivered,re con 12 months warrenty, order online its cheaper

Thats what i think i will do, put the back one back on and find a front one, trim the bottoms off.
