Has anyone replaced the seals on their pas pump? Mines leaking everywhere and I'm weighing up whether to recon it myself or buy a secondhand unit.

only problem m8 is it's not just the seals that wear, the metal bits wear as well which you won't replace and you end up with the same problem a few months down the line

while thats true if you can get drop arm off they are fairly simple to remove both shafts and replace seals if in good condition were seal runs, not all recon boxes are fitted with new shafts well not if been sold for £120 i could give instruction if needed

Its an easy job with the drop arm off to replace the seals but just a little wear on the metal parts can have it loosing fluid.Done a few but wont do them again just put another box on do the job once do it right first time.

Mm 4x4, recon box 109 quid, 12 months warrenty, mibe came yesterday, fitting it tomorro, i ordered a drop arm aswel as they seize on, only 30 quid extra

Best thing I ever did changing my box. got sick of putting seals in it. Get new drop arm and locking washer

So are the recon boxes from MM4x4 OK? Seem to cheap to be true?

My steering box has started to drip and failed an MOT, so need to get it replaced

I fitted two recon's in two months, then i gave up and bought a new one.

Must admit that they were not from the company above though.
