am soon ot be replacing my air filter, and going to do the breather filter while its in bits, read a lot on bmw forums (same engine as in the 330d) that they change the breather 'loo roll' typre filter for a vortex type one, any of you RR guys done this too? I'm guessing its the same part be...

On first glance it does make you well up a bit doesn't it? Can I be cheeky and ask what parts you had to get, and what they roughly cost?

Guys Am thinking of changing my girls pads and discs shortly, and have read through the 5 page post on fullfatrr website, quick question.... how many break pad wear sensors will I need in total for front and rear pads and discs change? Is it 8? :confused:

Cheers Datatek Been googling gearbox oil change and some of our friends across the pond wrote you should drian and fill up, run it, drain again and fill up, sort of diluting it down til it all be changed, surely thats a bit excessive? Also read about removing the sump to change the filter...

Bemble sorry to jump in, do you know if the TD6 (2003) has the same box as the 4.4's? And if so, what box is it? I phoned round for a quote today and was asked what box has it got in it, apparently there are 3 different types? And is a garage likely to removed the sump to change the filter...

Also, what sort of price is 10 litres (I think it takes 10 litres right?) of Texamatic 7045e? Fouind 20 litres online delivered for £80ish

Cheers guys Spoke to 2 independants, both quoting £200 ish. One said they use Dextron 3 oil instead of full synthetic, as fully synthetic would cost about £200 for the oil alone, is this right? He said a lot have gearbox problems anyway and putting the fully synth in it possibly wont make...

so far I've got: Engine oil and filter: Changed Pollen filter: Changed air filter and breather filter (change these both at same time?) Gearbox fluid and filter Anymore, and what they like to change?

Is it worth having oil and filter (if it has one) changed on my gearbox, and diffs? Whats the norm for you guys to do? As do you do it yourself or is it a trip to the main dealer Any advice greatly recieved
