Of course there's nothing wrong with the Dutch seal, that thing is hard as hell. Maybe too hard because it can rub the black liner really hard in case of misalignment and never fail... I think i'm one of those that can have an opinion about all those seals since i repaired compressors during 5...

Bypassing the thermal switch by earthing the orange wire can cause a fire. Let's say you have a leak, compressor overuns and then burns itself... That thermal switch wasn't put there for no reason... You won't even be warned by a EAS fault then.

A gauge on the #6 line is the only way to know what's going on. Maybe you have a leak on that melted line (very often on diesel with a bad center exhaust). I've seen that 4 times on a basis of 100 P38...

He did get in because i don't see how he would have gotten rid of the door card... Usually when the door latch fails in superlock mode, the others doors are still working...

There's another method that i've seen at the stealer. Remove the rear door, then access to the door frame and cuts the thing that where the latch grips. The U thing. Buy a new one at the scraper, cost nothing.
