    I've tested the wires and got a constant 12v through a purpley wire and the switched is a blue and yellow wire. That wire shows 12v when the ignition is on but when turned off starts to slowly decrease as opposed to switching off.

    After days of messing around I sorted this. It was a faulty, plastic union on the fuel line to the lift pump.     Sedimentor has been by passed in the past. Sender is plastic so no metal elbows visible. I've had it running by putting the fuel lines from the sender into a can of diesel so process of elimination says it's the sender but I can't see what could be wrong with it to be drawing in air!!

    Windscreen wiper problem.

    I appear to have sorted it. Stripped it down, cleaned it up and gave it a good drenching with WD40 and now it works fine. Sorted out my non cancelling out indicators whilst I was at it and fitted a new steering wheel so a bit of TLC for the disco today!!

    What's the IP?? Engine was fitted when I got it. Thought it was slow then but just assumed I'd forgotten how steady they are. Engines done about 160k. Had a similar problem with my 2.5TD. A new fuel filter and it was transformed. I can see this getting expensive!!
