Opinions from ex military Landy owners please

Some are, it depends on how they were registered. This one is registered as a SW so it's compliant! I've seen others registered as 'convertible' too. Obviously all petrol models are compliant but they're much harder to come by. Which is another reason this particular one is of interest to me......

Opinions from ex military Landy owners please

Me again! I've been looking but not seen anything else available since that's lez compliant or in my price range for a LWB. I know I'm looking at the bottom end of the price range, so it's difficult especially when you see some of the rubbish stuff on ebay that hopeful sellers are looking a...

Opinions from ex military Landy owners please

Thanks for the replies. The overheating issue is bothering me a little. He said something about needing to replace the fan or viscous coupling? I know any Landy at the bottom end of the price range will need some work and it's mostly good in the key areas on the body, just a bit tatty here...

Opinions from ex military Landy owners please

I've been to see a 110 Defender n/a diesel. New MOT with no advisories. Bodywork was fairly straight with a few dings - crossmember bent in a little from a ding at the back. Also a small split in one of the lower side panels, about 3 inches. Seller said it was running a bit hot and he's about...

    LEZ conundrum - help!!

Well I did phone the DVLA and..........they couldn't really tell me anything! First they said 'I don't know' then told me that there's no reason anything should change unless I requested a change. So it's probably OK if already registered as a 'car'. Can anyone tell me, does a V5 for a factory...

    LEZ conundrum - help!!

Hi it's the standard 2.5 Diesel apparently although I notice it's not painted green so possibly changed at some point? I don't want to call the DVLA and maybe alert them to the 'discrepancy' lol. From what I've seen so ex Mod vehicles get rated as commercial and some as cars but it seems to...

    LEZ conundrum - help!!

Hi, I've been keeping an eye out for a Landy 109 or 110 ideally ex military and also ideally petrol engined as I live in S London. I've seen one recently which is a 110 fitted with hard top which has side windows. In the LEZ checker it comes up as exempt from the charge and having checked...

Anyone know a good indie garage near Chichester?

I found Chichester 4X4 and Paul Rutter. Has anyone here used either before?

Anyone know a good indie garage near Chichester?

As above, does anyone know of a good mechanic/repair shop for Landy's in the Chichester area? Ideally an independent/sole trader type of place which I much prefer to the franchised dealers. Thanks

    Searching the classifieds

It's really hard to find a half decent Landy it seems to me! This one (way over my budget but anyway) is said to be a 'solid car in good order' but look at that bulkhead...

Help - newbie looking at buying

Any station wagon is LEZ compliant. The same vehicle in hard top form isn't. Neither is a hard top that's been converted to a station wagon. Any petrol version is LEZ compliant. In addition I know that some ex MOD diesel models have been registered as PLG and therefore are LEZ compliant, even...

So what's the best approach for a first Land Rover? What do I need to spend to get something useable (but maybe needing some tidying up etc). ?

Help - newbie looking at buying

1984 model. I live in S London so if I don't lock it I'll come out one morning to find the seats and dash ripped out and squatters living in it!

Help - newbie looking at buying

Asking price is £3K. I can do some work myself but stuff like brakes I have to hand over to my local mechanic. I'm trying to gauge a ballpark of what that stuff will cost to sort out. My biggest two issues if I bought it tomorrow would be how to drive it home with no indicators and how to...

Help - newbie looking at buying

Hi all, I viewed another Landy today and am tempted but there are some issues and wondered if I could get some feedback/advice from knowledgeable owners. It's a 110 2.5 petrol hard top. Perfect for me (no LEZ issues). It's got an MOT but the owner bought it a few months ago and says he's...

Question for owners of ex MOD Land Rovers

Thanks, yes petrol vehicles are OK it's diesel that's the problem. The odd thing is that if you look up some full rear tub diesels and input the reg no into the TFL check thingy on their website, some will come up as exempt! If you put the details into the 'check by vehicle type' it comes up...

Question for owners of ex MOD Land Rovers

Hi, I went to look at an ex Army 110 which I was very interested in, until I checked the TFL website and found that it would not meet the low emission zone exemption criteria. I checked some other random ex Army models (just looked some up on various websites and input the reg numbers) and...

As I understand it a Station Wagon is fine, the same Landy without rear windows isn't! Bloody stupid!!

Thanks, this is what I was worried about! I will have to think about a SW or petrol engine to be 100% certain!
