    P38 water pump

Hi all, the water pump bearing has just failed on my 2000 4.6 P38 so need to change it, does the viscous fan need to be removed, or can it be done by removing fan pulley wheel complete to gain access to the water pump bolts. Is there anything else i need to know prior to attacking it. Cheers all

Yeah it will still work, i have replaced 3 of mine recently, no problems. Just for info you can use a rover 75 door lock module, much cheaper on ebay.

I had the same problem with mine, easy DIY fix if you are happy to have a go. I just cleaned up the contacts inside the starter switch and gave it a spray with some contact cleaner, job done, 3 months later still no problem starting. Is there no forum members near you?

    New owner, few questions

Read my post again, i said it looks like the HDC switch wiring, attaches to the gear stick and operates like a low range gearbox in 1st and reverse..............

    New owner, few questions

The cut wire looks like the HDC wiring, it should be attached to a switch mounted on the gear stick, they seem to be an inherent problem with F/L's, i have had to resolder mine a few times. if i remember correctly the wire colours are blue and black? Hope this helps;)

    Aircon - condensation?

    Door Latches/ Lock Servos

For info, if anyone was wondering about central door locking problems and need to replace locking motors, have a look at Rover 75/ MG Zt motors, i have just changed my drivers side door motor with a Rover 75 item and fits and works perfectly. The good news is they go cheaper on the 'bay' than LR...
