    Early 90 centre seat

does anyone have a picture of the seat frame / rails of an early 90/110 centre seat please? I’ve currently got a newer Defender centre seat in mine but I’ve bought a full set of the older style replacement bases and backs and I want to put the “proper” centre seat in. I’ve been looking on eBay...

    Timing marks?!

I am rebuilding a Disco 200TDi to go in my 90 and am now ready to put all the timing gears in, but I've hit a snag / am going mad. The only timing mark on the front plate is the crank, neither the fuel pump nor the camshaft appear to have any marks. I've seen pictures of a Defender plate and...

    Diesel heater install

I didn't know that, it doesn't say anything like that in the instructions.... out of interest, where is the glow plug? I've got it so that the electrics go in at the top, but in any event I can't easily locate the unit with the pipes exiting the bottom as there isn't really enough clearance. I...

    Diesel heater install

Finished the job today... I tee’d into the fuel return line - mine already has the long return stand pipe so I lopped an inch off it. Apart from a bit of trouble getting it pulling fuel to get it started (a few mouthfuls of diesel for my trouble) it’s now working a treat.

    Brake pipe routing

That’s exactly what I did mate it’s all good now, I just could not work out where it should go until I saw a photo. That’s the problem with doing multiple jobs... I am fitting a diesel heater, rewiring the fuse box, renovating the dash, starting to renovate the cover and seats and rebuilding a...

    Brake pipe routing

I agree, but bear in mind I wasn’t about to dismantle or replace the pipe, I just wanted to know where it was supposed to route so I could get it out of the way of the fuel return banjo which I needed to take off. As it turned out I could just push it back into place with a bit of gentle...

    Brake pipe routing

Thanks both, yes indeed it is the clutch pipe I was referring to which I wrongly identified as a brake pipe (still learning my Landy!) but with the help of those photos I've got it manoeuvred back into position up along the top of the firewall... without breaking anything! Thanks :)

    Brake pipe routing

Would anyone happen to have a reasonably close-up picture of the bulkhead so I can see the correct routing of the brake pipe (red arrow) in my picture? Or provide a description... It clearly shouldn't be routed like it currently is but there's no obvious way it should go. I need to take the...

    New fuse boxes installed

Just waiting for a few electrical bits to finish the job (some right-angled blade connectors and another rubber boot), but I've now added the separate fuse box for the switched power (gauges & power socket etc.). The smaller switched fuse box uses some pre-drilled holes nicely with only a little...

    New fuse boxes installed

The old glass fuses were playing up (indicators kept failing and needing a fuse wiggle) and many badly corroded so I decided to bite the bullet.... 2 days to install new blade fuseboxes. I took the opportunity to fuse the incoming lives, taking the 2x14 gauge wires coming through the bulkhead to...

    Which 200TDI head gasket?

All planned :) I have drilled & tapped the 200TDI manifold to take a 300TDI EGR blanking plate with an 1/8 NPT boss so I can fit the EGT sender, although I am not going mental with the boost, my fast days are over I just would like to be able to keep up with regular traffic (!) and will be...

    Which 200TDI head gasket?

So three holes is the thickest? I am going to up the boost so may make sense to fit the thickest gasket anyway.

    Which 200TDI head gasket?

thanks for the replies, I've got a fair bit to do and I am going to port / polish the head which will take some time, so I'll get the pistons in and go from there.

    Which 200TDI head gasket?

I have now stripped my (Disco) 200TDI donor engine and cleaned, checked & refreshed the block including a lick of gold paint and am ready to reassemble. Now buying all the bits I need and I've hit a snag - there seem to be different types of head gasket identified by notches / holes, trouble...

    90 cargo lashing points

Here's one still "in-situ" sitting on top of the wheel arch, the one that is damaged sits on the front face of the wheel arch. It's an ex-MOD 90 so these could be specific to a military spec Landy as they look pretty stock to me, they've certainly been there for a very, very long time!

    90 cargo lashing points

Mine dont look like that, mine are rigid D bolts / shackles, they don’t fold. It’s a 1987 so maybe too old for the style you listed. Thanks for your reply.

    90 cargo lashing points

one of the U/D “bolt” lashing points in my 90 truck bed is knackered, it looks like a cheap part so before I try and repair it can someone tell me what it’s called so I can see about getting a replacement? Thanks in advance
