Would anyone happen to have a reasonably close-up picture of the bulkhead so I can see the correct routing of the brake pipe (red arrow) in my picture? Or provide a description... It clearly shouldn't be routed like it currently is but there's no obvious way it should go. I need to take the fuel return banjo off to replace the pipe and thats not possible at the moment because that pipe fouls it.

Thanks in advance.

That looks like the original steel brake line, but shortened for some reason.

On mine, it came out of the master cylinder, and bent down towards the drivers footwell. It then bent back up towards the fuel filter following the lines of the bulkhead footwell and up to the fuel filter. Once at the filter, it bent towards the passenger side, above the fuel filter housing, and towards the heater box. Once at the heater box, it bent down towards the front left wheel, following the bulkhead and footwell again (passenger side this time). Once down the footwell, it went along the chassis rail and under the inner arch onto the flexi.

Thats a bit of a big boo boo fella, mistaking clutch for brakes. Those pre formed pipes are a complete arse to fit, I fitted a pre formed clutch pipe as I ran out of copper and was ordering up some bits anyway, never again! At least with copper you can form it as you feed it through and get it right every time.
Where abouts in Norfolk are you? Im just south of Norfolk.

I agree, but bear in mind I wasn’t about to dismantle or replace the pipe, I just wanted to know where it was supposed to route so I could get it out of the way of the fuel return banjo which I needed to take off. As it turned out I could just push it back into place with a bit of gentle persuasion so I don’t need to do anything else with it. I am doing each job as it comes up so I don’t know the whole vehicle yet, I’ve only owned it 4 months and it’s my first one.

I am in 6 miles north of Norwich mate.

It goes down in behind the filter under the ridge on the bulkhead. Looking at your photo you might have to remove the filter and head to get it back in there.

Im down past Diss, if you ever need any help with it and you can get it down here just drop me a line fella, be glad to help.

That’s exactly what I did mate it’s all good now, I just could not work out where it should go until I saw a photo.

That’s the problem with doing multiple jobs... I am fitting a diesel heater, rewiring the fuse box, renovating the dash, starting to renovate the cover and seats and rebuilding a 200TDi to install all at the same time lol. I should probably just do one at a time! when I’ve got it running again I might take a run out to Diss and say hello.
