Yes they light up when blown, the led Is effectively connected between the two pins of the fuse. When the fuse is intact both sides of the led are at 12volts so it does not light. When the fuse blows if the rest of the circuit is intact it provides a path to earth for the led to illuminate, this...

    HID Spot / driving lights

Voltage can easily be stepped up, LEDs like that are normally run from a constant current source so the voltage is dependant on the load which is opposite to a regular constant voltage source where the current is dependant on the load.

She lives! Think the fact the wheel bearing had completely collapsed on that side hasn't helped matters, but the offside brake was in pretty much the same state. So now we have new discs, pads, calipers and wheel bearings both sides.

Advice please on dealing with a sheared manifold bolt

Those titanium coated bits are a con, they have the thinnest coating possible on them which scratches off the moment it hits the workpiece. A properly sharpened hss bit will do just as well, or else get a set of cobalt steel drill bits.

I should be around on Monday I think, assuming I have time to deal with the wheel bearing and do something with the rear brakes before then.
