These led fuses would they be any good in a engine fuse box

Ie would they light up if the fuse box went kapoot in certain circumstances or an electrical device used from it ,ie the feed loop side.

I'm no eggspurt here
But a fuse makes a continual loop on a feed so if the feed side was working but the outlet side broke its connection then would it still light? A normal fuse would show no sigh of a Blown fuse to what's not working bad conection , or an item is not woking unless there was a short that blew the fuse as long as there wasnt a short? Like a break in the wire ect
If that makes sence :)

The LED will light when the fuse blows as the current that blew the fuse is more than enough to light an LED that needs only 10ma.

It needs a circuit to illuminate, so yes a positive one side, but if there is no earth on the other side, it won't light....

There must be a circuit to earth at some point for the fuse to blow, as long as 10ma is available at say 3 volts it will light.

Yeah but one it has popped no circuit no lamp! He asked if it would still illuminate if the circuit was duff because it still had a live feed, which obviously it wouldnt

Well if the fuse blows we know it lights up when blown. so the feed is always there.
What happens if the feed out of the fuse is broke ?? Say the wire to a horn and you press the horn does it then light if no complete circuit but the feed to the fuse is always there .

How does it remain illuminated if it has blown?

Do you have a link to these things?

Do you mean a LED fuse tester?

They have an earth wire which you need to ground somewhere (the one I had used a crock clamp so attached it to battery). You then place it on either side of the fuse, both sides should light it up (mine has a buzzer too). If it doesn't, the fuse is broken.

Yes they light up when blown, the led Is effectively connected between the two pins of the fuse. When the fuse is intact both sides of the led are at 12volts so it does not light. When the fuse blows if the rest of the circuit is intact it provides a path to earth for the led to illuminate, this can be through either a fault or the normal circuit.
If the circuit is incomplete then the led will not illuminate, but then the fuse won't blow if the circuit is incomplete.

So inafect if its blown and it don't light the circuit is sizzled :)
