Anybody interested in a batch of smaller more compact back boxes...?

Images of how poor the ground clearance is on the 2004-2006 MK1 Freelander TD4 'Sport' (using the standard backbox),and why I think Simon's (SES88) custom compact back boxes are a good idea, for those undecided. Vehicle ground clearance dimensions: Approx 10 inches from sill to floor at center...

Exhaust Guards - Group Buy/Next Production Run

Hi. My ideas were for you to be able to count up definate buyers, not because we won't trust you! 'cos you said: Naturally even if people are well intentioned (which I'm sure 99% of people are on here), people can simply forget threads they posted in, and if they're like me with a bad memory...

Check out this guys modded Defender

Hi. I don't have a Defender, but thought you guys might like this fancy one. There's pages and pages of photos to wade through, thought you might like it for inspiration or ideas. The owner has car batteries custom mounted under the front passenger seat and chequer plated the whole floor and...

Exhaust Guards - Group Buy/Next Production Run

SES88 I'd but a flat skid plate exhaust card from you, and I'm sure others would who want the slimline exhaust! Maybe what you need is a system where people can pay you a deposit for jobs so you know that the order for parts is definate. E.g, if people don't pay up, they lose their deposit. An...

What tyres do you have on your freelander

Vredestein Quatrac 3 SUV all seasons, with light snow ability on 18'' Alloys (235/50/18). A winter tyre review on the Vredestein Quatrac 3 allseason Michelin Latitude Alpin for winter on 16'' Alloys (215/65/16). Ideally, buy a 205/80/16 for increased ride height in winter Vs lower profile...

Anybody interested in a batch of smaller more compact back boxes...?

Hi SES88. Please add me to the list too as a definite buyer. (My 'Sport' has an absurd lack of ground clearance due to the big rear silencer box with a 40mm suspension drop). So the list so far is: Nodge (?) myotherworld hd3 Epicuser TD4_4X4

Silicone seal Roof Rack mounting bracket?

Thank you for another good idea Winu, I didn't know those parts existed for a Freelander. I'll implement both ideas I think! 1) Add some silicone sealant around the cap bolt heads and inside (it's still leaking somehow even when done up tight with the rubber seal under the roof mount brackets...

    Bonnet wheel carrier

If you want a bonnet mount for a wheel, maybe some like this design discussed in the link below? http://forum.lro.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=73587 ]

    Removing door panel?

Poboy, if you car is outside don't forget it you need to cut the plastic vapour barrier once the door cards are off to tape any holes up with electrical tape as over time it will let water in and moisture and rust the metal parts. I've had my door cards off for months. :)

    My Freelander TD4

Great lighting, definitely looks much brighter than the standard face-lift headlamps with Osram Nightbreaker Plus Bulbs! Out of interest did you fit these? I remember someone on the forum recommended these in the past, but I can't remember who, sorry. Bi-Xenon Projector Lens HID Conversion Kit...

Silicone seal Roof Rack mounting bracket?

Hello everyone. I've just fitted a Brownchurch Roof rack (group effort) and found out the channels in the roof rails get full of water when it rains as there's no plastic covers with the roof rack obviously. (On a side note, before fitting the roof rack I had to get a rear Brownchurch bracket...

    Angel eyes?

Nice find epicuser. One problem would be fitting those Xenons and getting them level. I think to disassemble the lamp unit you have to put them in the oven (taking them out the car first) to get the glue loose, then you can pick them apart to get inside the glass. Probably going to be next to...

Fuel Tank Cradle Show Of Hands

RE: Beefed up fuel tank cradle. Would fitting a fuel tank guard also lose 6-8mm of ground clearance like fitting the beefed up cradle would? I'd like max ground clearance is poss. Thanks.

    freelander lift kit, the video

Nice video essexpestcontrol! On my Sport, the centre of wheelcap to bottom of wheel arch (on road biased 215/65/16 snow tyres) is 410.7mm on a slight downhill surface, and yours lifted is now 500mm. So you've got 89.3mm gap more than me, which is 3.51 inches more than my Sport! The lift effect...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Nice looking setup there. I'd consider some custom work on the front centre of the cup holder to affix a dash mount for a Nexus 7. (In the photo you posted, look at the little triangle emblem/sign), I'd place my mount there. See the following video for how it might look (not how it would...

    soundproofing freelanders

To make interior of Freelanders quieter: 1) Remove factory carpet and all trim (big job). 2) Silentcoat/Dynamat entire floor and inside all doors and tailgate yourself (bigger job). 3) Closed cell foam (Fire rated) on top of that. 4) Refit factory carpets on top and get all trim to fit...
